All Charm Locations – Alan Wake 2

Just in time for October, the spooky, highly anticipated sequel to the 2010 game Alan Wake has been released. Alan Wake 2 has a few collectables of the weird kind to keep your eyes out for. One of these are charms. Here’s where you can find all charm locations.

In Alan Wake II, you play as two main characters, FBI Agent Saga who is investigating a cult in the quiet town of Brightfalls and the titular Alan Wake who is trapped in a strange shadow world.

What are Charms?

The Charms to keep an eye out for are in Saga’s chapters and are small charms for her charm bracelet. Each one has different affects to help her but you can only equip a few at a time.

What do you need to find the charms?

For many of the charms you will need to have collected all the small clothespin dolls in the area as they are needed to solve the puzzle and reveal the charms.

You can find the locations of the dolls here.

When can Charms be collected?

Charms can be collected anytime in Saga’s return chapter before the 6^th chapter, Scratch. This is a point of no return for her story but before that you are free to back track and collect any you may have missed.

This list will tell you the first chapter you can come across the charm and the location.

All Return 1, Invitation Charm Locations

Charm 1 – Logan’s Charm

This charm will be on your bracelet right at the start and increases your maximum health.

All Return 2, The Heart Charm Loactions

Charm 2 – Hammer Charm

This charm is located in the west of Cauldron Lake. To get it you’ll need to figure out the Nursery Rhyme puzzle in the area. To do this place the Crow Doll on the sun. After that you’ll find the charm on the table.

The Hammer charm causes attacks to stagger enemies more often.

Also do not forget to pick the dolls back up after using them on the puzzle since they will be used again.

Charm 3 – Coffee Mug Charm

In the north of Cauldron Lake there is another Nursery Rhyme to solve. For this one, place the Hero Doll on the boat and the Wolf Doll on the tree. Pick the dolls back up and head inside the building in front of you. Head upstairs and find the charm in the room to the left.

The Coffee Mug Charm is one you will get multiple of. They save you from death one time but will shatter after use.

Charm 4 – Kalevala Knight Charm

In the north-west of Cauldron Lake you will find another Nursery Rhyme to solve at the private cabin. Place the Hero Doll on the heart, the Wolf Doll on the house and the Crow Doll on the egg. Pick the dolls back up and head to a location north-east. You’ll find the charm next to a tree where a doll house seems to have fallen out.

Return 3, Local Girl

Charm Location 5 – Coffee Mug Charm

In this chapter we explore Watery. In the east you’ll find another Nursery Rhym to solve. Place the Moose Doll on the tree. Pick up the doll and head back up the path. You’ll find the charm at the feet of the Moose statue.

Charm 6 – Deer Charm

In the north of Watery there is another Nursery Rhyme to solve. Place the Deer Doll on the house. Pick it back up and head north towards the radio tower. You’ll find the charm next to a deer carcass.

 The Deer charm can increase Saga’s resilience to stagger or interruption.

Charm 7 – Coffee World Token Charm

On the dock at the most south-western point of Watery you’ll find another rhyme to solve. Place the Wise Elder Doll on the waves and the Bear Doll on the candy. Pick the dolls back up and find the charm on your left at a fish cleaning station after the dock.

This charm is very useful for those who struggle with resources as it increases the Quantity and Quality of what is found.

Charm 8 – Lighthouse Charm

In the south of Watery you’ll find the next Nursery Rhyme to solve is by the Lighthouse. Place the Trickster Doll on the waves and the Wise Elder Doll on the eye. Pick up the dolls again. The charm’s location isn’t obvious with this one. You’ll need to head north and towards the bridge to downtown. Just before the bridge take a right into the woods. You’ll find the charm near a ruined boat.

The Lighthouse Charm lets you restore more health at safe havens.

Charm 9 – Mr Drippy Charm

The Nursery Rhyme for this charm can be found on the dock for Latte Lagoon in the centre of Watery. Place the Moose Doll on the waves, the Trickster Doll on the Jewels, and the Deer Doll on the boat. Pick the dolls back u and wait for one of the floating rides to come to you, carrying the charm.

Mr Drippy’s Charm increases the damage dealt while on low health.

Charm 10 – FBC Charm

In the North near the Ranger Cabin there is another Nursery Rhyme to solve. Place the Maiden Doll on the tree and the bear doll on the heart. Pick up the dolls and find the charm inside the ranger cabin. Specifically upstairs and on the bed.

The FBC cham gives you bonus sneak attack damage to enemies that haven’t seen you.

Charm 11 – Coffee Mug Charm

In Downtown Watery you’ll find another Nursery Rhyme puzzle in the building behind Suomi Hall. You’ll need to use the screwdriver to get in. Place the Maiden Doll on the house and the Trickster doll on the jewels. You’ll find the charm on the mailbox outside.

Return 5, Old Gods

Charm 12 – Lantern Charm

In Brightfalls proper, you’ll find a Nursery Rhyme in a campsite to the north to solve. For the first charm location of the chapter you’ll need to place Child Doll on the tree and Mother Doll on the house. Pick up the Doll and turn to your left. Follow a path of toys through the forest and you’ll find the charm.

The Lantern Charm adds a charge to Saga’s flashlight.

Charm 13 – Coffee Mug Charm

A 4^th Coffee Mug charm can be found by solving a Nursery Rhyme at the Ranger Cabin in the south of Brightfalls. Place the Child Doll on the house and the Monster Doll on the candy. Pick up the dolls again and you’ll hear the doorbell. Head upstairs and find the charm on the bed.

Charm 14 – Valhalla Nursing Home Charm

In the south-east of the nursing home you’ll find another Nursery Rhyme to solve. Place the Monster Doll on the waves, Child Doll on the jewels and the Mother Doll on the boat. Pick the dolls back up and you’ll find the charm just past this area, north along the coast.

This charm increases effects from painkillers and trauma pads.

Charm 15 – Anchor Charm

You’ll find the puzzle for the next charm at Billie’s Boat Yard. Place the Mother Doll on the waves and Monster Doll on the Boat. Pick up the doll and fin the charm next to a boat left of the dock.

This charm gives Saga the chance to stun an enemy on a Flashlight Boost.

Charm 16 – Deerfest Charm

This charm is all the way back in watery in the Trailor park. As usual there is a puzzle to solve but you’ll need the bolt cutters to get to it which is why it could not be done before. For this one, place the Wise Elder Doll on the eye and the Deer Doll on the heart. Pick up the dolls and you’ll find the charm in the house, just past the kitchen.

This charm increases the amount of time it takes for enemies’ darkness to regenerate, leaving them vulnerable for longer.

Cham 17 – Coffee Mug Charm

You’ll 5^th Coffee Mug Charm and las charm location for this chapter, is back in Cauldron Lake in the rental cabins. Place the Monster Doll on the egg, the Crow Doll on the eye and the Hero Doll on the jewels. Head across into the house across the street to pick up the charm.

All Return 6, Scratch Charm Locations

Charm 18 – Mayor Setter Charm

This last charm does not have a puzzle involved and can only be found after Saga’s chapter 6. After defeating the boss ignore the NPCs and head to Watery. Head into the first building you see and pet the dog on the stage. The charm will appear in your inventory after.

This charm shows all nearby resources and points on interest on Saga’s map so you won’t miss anything else!
