Just in time for October, the spooky, highly anticipated sequel to the 2010 game Alan Wake has been released. One of the best things you can keep an eye out for are Lunchboxes and Cult Stashes.

In Alan Wake II, you play as two main characters, FBI Agent Saga who is investigating a cult in the quiet town of Brightfalls and the titular Alan Wake who is trapped in a strange shadow world.

Cult Stashes and Lunchboxes are features in Saga’s return chapters.

What are Lunchboxes and Cult Stashes?

They are two different kinds of collectables you can find while exploring areas as the FBI Agent Saga.

Lunchboxes, themed after crime moves are places around. Their locations are hinted at by brightly painted rocks and inside are manuscript fragments that are used to upgrade Saga’s weapons.

Cult Stashes are lock boxes left by the cult that Saga is tracking. Each one is locked with the combinations usually near by and holds important resources to help you through the game. For example, ammo, healing items and torch batteries.

When can you collect these?

As long as you have unlocked the are in story you will be able to get any of these items at any time before Saga’s 6^th chapter, Scratch as that is a point of no return.

The guide will list by the first chapter that they become available but also note the location. There may be some backtracking in later chapters due to Saga getting access to tools that help her access previously locked areas.

How many are there?

There are 22 Cult Stashes and 21 Lunchboxes. So strap in, this is going to be a long list.

(NOTE: If you happen to miss any during the first available mission, then use your car to drive around the various different maps. Also, you will need the bolt cutters but they are story related. So you will need to keep playing to unlock them)
