Get Orin’s Netherstone Prerequisites

In order to get Orin’s netherstone, you will first need to have completed the “Investigate the Murders” quest. If you haven’t completed this quest, you won’t be able to reach the Murder Tribunal and subsequently open Bhaal’s Temple.

The ‘Investigate the Murders’ quest involves heading to the Lower City Wine Festival. It is part of act 3 and you will discover that the wine is poisoned. We will find Dolor. Stop the killings or, failing that, use Speak with Dead. then we need to travel to Candulhallow’s Tombstones.

After you’ve completed this quest, you’re ready to find Orin.

Search Baldurs Gate

To get Orin’s netherstone, you will first need to locate her. As a Bhaalist, Orin is able to go undetected very easily, and finding her is just as difficult as defeating her!

To find Orin, head west on the road to Baldurs’ Gate. Once you arrive at Baldurs Gate, search the area for clues. You should find a small trail that will inform you Orin is at the Temple of Bhaal.

From here, it’s time to head to the Temple.

Get to the Temple of Bhaal

Finding the Temple of Bhaal is pretty simple. But, actually getting inside is much more difficult.
Once you arrive at the temple, you’ll find out that you need to have the Amilet of Bhaal to open the door. To get your hands on the Amulet, head through the Candulhallow’s Tombstone Building. Inside, you should find a path that leads to the Crypt of Bhaal.

After entering the Crypt, Servok Anchev will confront you. Servok Anchev holds the amulet, so if you kill him, you’ll be able to take the amulet from his corpse.

After defeating Serevok Anchev, head back to the front gate of the Temple of Bhaal and present the amulet. The doors should open, putting you one step closer to getting Orin’s netherstone.

Defeat Orin

Once you enter the Temple of Bhaal, a cutscene with Orin will start, initiating a battle. This will be a very difficult battle. But, this is also the only way to get Orin’s Netherstone, so you will have to face her no matter what. It’s a good idea to rest up and fill up on consumables to help you throughout the fight.

Orin is surrounded by a large group of cultists. Given the chance, these cultists will make Orin effectively invincible thanks to a variety of powerful health buffs. But as long as you face Orin one-on-one, without the help of your party, the cultists will stand on the sidelines. So, as you fight her, make sure to keep the rest of your party out of the fight. It might seem counterintuitive, but it’s the easiest way to defeat Orin in Baldurs Gate 3.

To deplete Orin’s massive health pool, use high-damage spells from a distance. However, the most important weapon in your arsenal during this night will be healing spells such as Bless. The fight with Orin will be long, arduous, and difficult, and if you don’t have any healing capability, you will quickly bleed out.

As you fight, Orin will also spawn minions to attack you. As soon as they spawn, it’s recommended that you take them on straight away. If you don’t deal with them initially, she’ll keep spawning more until they grow out of control.

The fight with Orin will be extremely difficult. But, if you follow these tips, you should defeat her first time, and finally get your hands on Orin’s Netherstone.

Collect Orin’s Netherstone

Once you defeat Orin, you’ll be rewarded with Orin’s netherstone, as well as the following items:

  • Crimson Mischief (A shortsword that can deal additional l-4 Piercing damage)
  • Putting the Past to Rest

These items are strong, but Orin’s netherstone is definitely the most powerful reward from this fight. And once you collect it, you’ll be one step closer to defeating the Elder Brain.

Orin’s Netherstone is one of three netherstones that is required to be found and collected before completing the main story of Baldur’s Gate 3. The other two are the Ketheric and Gortash Netherstone
