‘Careful Whisper’ Achievement

In FF16 Final Fantasy XVI there will be a Main Quest known as ‘The Dame’. After this quest Clive gains access to the Patron’s Whisper shop in The Hideaway. To the south of the map, next to the moogle hunt board.

PATRON’S WHISPER SHOP

Here he can gain items and bonus AP based on the amount of renown he has collected. There are 16 Patron Items in total and you will need to get all of them to gain the ‘Careful Whisper’ Achievement.

The Patron Whisper shop isn’t like other shops, renown is less a currency than a milestone goal. When you ‘buy’ an item you do no loose renown you are just expected to accumulate more until you can reach the next goal.

HOW TO GET RENOWN

The best way to get renown to reach each of these goals will be to do all the content. Main Quests, Side Quests, and Hunt Board Quests. If you do everything as you go from the point of unlocking the Patron’s Whisper onward you should have your achievement with 2-3 main quests remaining, even in your first playthrough.  

PATRON’S SHOP REWARDS

Each renown goal comes with some rewards and a small note from Clive’s supporters. Here are the renown goals and what rewards come with it.

15 Renown – Talk of the Teahouse

Rewards:

• 20 Valley Madder
• 20 Bloody Hide
• 20 Steelsilk
• 400 AP

45 Renown – Respect

Reward:

• 1 Meteorite

85 Renown – Pillow Talk

Reward:

• 1 Berserker Ring (Temporarily increases attack after a precision dodge)

135 Renown – A Swelling Chorus

Rewards:

• “A Rose Is a Rose” Orchestrion Roll
• 1 Empty Shard

205 Renown – A Prayer for Safe Travels

Rewards:

• 1 Cleric’s Medallion +1 (Increases healing of potions by 40%)

295 Renown – Safe Passage

Rewards:

• 1 Dire wolf Jess (Increases combo damage by 5%)

410 Renown – A Token

Rewards:

• 25 Briar Clam Shell
• 15 Desert Rose
• 800 AP

550 Renown – The Bearer’s Plight

Reward:

• 2 meteorite

715 Renown – A Light from the Heavens

Reward:

• 1 High Cleric’s Medallion (Increases healing of potions by 25%)

905 Renown – A Pall Lifted

Rewards:

• 40 Sharp Fangs
• 30 Bloody Hide
• 30 Steelsilk
• 1000 AP

1120 Renown – Newfound Purpose

Rewards:

• “No Risk, No Reward” Orchestrion Roll
• 1 Amber

1360 Renown – A Gift

Reward:

• 1 Talisman of Priming (Increases lionheart tonic duration by 30 seconds)

1635 Renown – A Fitting Performance

Rewards:

• 20 Clutchmine
• 50 Wyrrite
• 50 Magicked Ash
• 2500 AP

1965 Renown – Fail Undying

Reward:

• 1 Ring of Swiftshot (Lowers charge time for magic by 0.2 seconds)

2365 Renown – Continental Acclaim

Reward:

• 1 Genji Gloves (Increases damage by 5%)

2850 Renown – Unassigned

Rewards:

• “To Sail Forbidden Seas” Orchestrion Roll
• 1 Fallen Enigma
