After being rumoured for a while now, a remastered version of the awarded winning horror thriller title, Alan Wake, has now been officially announced.
In Alan Wake players control the character of Alan Wake, hence the name really, who is a best-selling thriller novelist. Whilst out on vacation to the fictional town of Bright Falls, his wife suddenly disappears and so the hunt is on to find her, whilst trying to track her down Alan Wake is met with mysterious horrors and untold secrets.
The remastered version is said to include upgraded visuals, character models, and cinematics. According to Sam Lake (Creative Director, Remedy Entertainment) the game is also almost at its completion and should be ready to release this fall.
Alan Wake was met with rather positive reviews over on Steam and received a score of 83 over on Metacritic when it was first released back in 2010. It featured a total of 6 episodes and was given at least two dlc stories including; The Signal and The Writer. Though it has yet to be confirmed if the dlc will be included in with the new remastered version.
The remastered version was announced over on the Remedy community website, which stated that more information regarding the game will be available at a later date
