The team over at Turtle Rock Studios has confirmed that players will need an internet connection in order to play the upcoming First-Person Shooter title, Back 4 Blood. Even if you choose to play solo rather than multiplayer the internet connection is still a requirement, at least for launch it will be anyway. The team have mentioned that they are looking into ways to support offline play but for now players will need to simply put up with it
It is strange to see Back 4 Blood requiring an internet connect whilst the companies other titles such as Left 4 Dead does not. Some reports mention that this could all be down to the company wanting to prioritise online play as much as possible and/or just to simply keep a record of player data such as progression and unlocks.
Back 4 Blood sees characters teaming up to tackle hordes of the undead, with either AI teammates or other players.
Back 4 Blood will also be seeing at least two betas later this year, with the early access beta set to take place this August 5th – 9th and the open beta will begin on August 12th – 16th
The full version of the game is set to release on October 12th for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
