(MGS5) Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – Online Servers Set To Close On Both PS3 & XBox 360 In May 2022

Game News

The (MGS5) Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain servers are set to close in May 2022 for both the Playstation 3 and XBox 360

The official announcement came from the Konami website which stated that the servers would close on May 31st, this would also result in anything Metal Gear Online related (including dlc content) to no longer be purchasable.

With the servers going offline this will no doubt affect the nuclear disarmament section of the game, which relied heavily on having online support. It saw players competing against others in an attempt to disarm nuclear traps. Though what kind of affect this will have remains to be seen as there has been no confirmed mention of this so far.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was first released back in 2015 and was made available for the PC, Playstation 4, and XBox One as well as the Playstation 3 and XBox 360

The game was set before the events of Metal Gear Solid and featured open world gameplay, where players controlled the character of Punished ‘Venom’ Snake in his attempts on taking revenge for the events of Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, which was bundled with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in the Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience edition back in October 2016.
