Playstation Partner Awards 2021 – Mark Your Calendars For December 2-3

Game News

The annual Playstation Partner Awards has been dated for December 2-3. However, fans can expect things to go a little differently this year, as the award announcements will be taking place over on the Playstation Japan Twitter account instead of an actual live broadcast. These announcements will also come with a special video message from each winner, which will then be narrated by Japanese voice actor, Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)

The Playstation Partner Awards has been going since 1994 and is an event dedicated to reward the Japanese and Asian developers for their hard work in the industry. It was formerly known simply as the Playstation Awards until last year, when the team over at Sony decided to rename the event to the Playstation Partner Awards instead.

The event will feature various different award ceremonies, which include the Special Award, Partner Award, and Grand Award. All of which will be presented to the Japanese and Asian developers with the highest sales and player numbers, during the period of October 2020 to September 2021. A special indie award will also be given out.

Some of the winners from the 2020 Playstation Partner Awards included; Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, Final Fantasy XIV, and Death Stranding. Over 12 different titles and developers were given awards altogether.
