Sifu is an upcoming kung fu roguelike title which features a story of revenge and apparently does not come with any difficulty levels, well not in the traditional sense anyway.
This news comes from an interview with the Producer Pierre Tarno over on MP1st.
”We want Sifu to challenge players and to encourage them to learn, improve and adapt. The ability to rise up from death will help new players by allowing them to fail and try again multiple times when they face difficulty. But the price of mistakes will rapidly increase, and in order to fully complete the game they will have to master the combat system.”
So going by this fans can expect some degree of difficulty, at least until they have fully managed to learn the mechanics. Then to prove their abilities they can even complete the game in a single sitting.
An aspect to the game which is perhaps what they are referring to is the ability to age within the game. As your character ages, your abilities will become more powerful and stronger, however this will come at the cost of less health and thus more vulnerable to attacks. So, as mentioned each time you die the difficulty becomes more apparent.
Sifu was announced back in February 2021 and will be releasing on February 8th, 2022. It will be available on the PC, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5
