The multiplayer shooter had only just opened its doors to players and fans after finally taking that big step towards the playable Beta.
However, it was all short lived as the the servers could not handle the huge demand it was given. According to the team, the servers are only able to withstand 65,536 concurrent players and this was met rather fast and unfortunately ended up breaking the servers. The servers are now officially down until the team come to some form of fix, which may come in the form of a new queue system until the 65k limitation is removed.
The team over at Splitgate are said to be rather small, consisting of only 4 engineers. So surely given this and the fact that the game is currently still in Beta one can forgive them, right? We would hope so as players who were able to play the game before the servers went offline will be given some in-game rewards for the inconvenience.
Splitgate combines portals and shooting to make a tactical multiplayer experience, with 15 casual and competitive game modes, over 20 playable maps and more!
The full version of the game is expected to drop this July 27th on the PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, XBox One and XBox Series X/S
