If you’re aiming to fill out your Aniidex or simply trying to complete a quest, there’s one handy feature you’ll want to know about. Aniimo lets players manually control the time of day, so you don’t have to sit around waiting for the world clock to move on its own. Here’s how to change the time in Aniimo.
How to Change your Time in Aniimo
In order to change the time in Aniimo, all you need is to follow these steps.
- Go to the main menu by tapping the button on the right side, or pressing Esc.
- Look at the icons along the right side of the screen.
- Select the Day and Night option with the sun and moon icon.
- Choose your preferred time of day.
- Confirm the change.
You can choose from four different time periods: Dawn, Noon, Dusk, and Nighttime. Once you confirm your choice, the game will move the clock forward and update the environment to match the selected time.
Changing the time in Aniimo is completely free, so you can use the feature whenever you need it, whether you’re hunting a time-specific Aniimo or progressing through a quest.
How to Unlock the Day and Night Switch
The option to change the time is not available from the very beginning of Aniimo.
You unlock the Day and Night feature by progressing through the main story until you reach the Ceremony Preparations quest. This is where the game first introduces the mechanic and has you change the time to night as part of the objective.
If the sun and moon icon is still missing from your menu, just keep following the main story for a bit longer.
There is no separate unlock requirement, special item, or side activity tied to it, so the feature becomes available naturally as you continue playing.
Why Changing Time Is Important in Aniimo
The Day and Night feature is not just there to change how Idyll looks.
Time of day is one of Aniimo’s actual exploration conditions, alongside region, weather, and other environmental requirements. This means being at the correct location does not always guarantee that the Aniimo you are looking for will appear.
For example, some Aniimo only appear at night. If you visit their spawn locations during the wrong time of day, you may not find them at all.

You will also end up using the feature quite a lot while progressing through the game. Some quests and subquests require a specific time of day before their objectives can be completed.
