To complete the Servant of God quest in No Rest for the Wicked, players will have to unlock the Ancient Gate closing off the Cerim Ruins for the Madrigal. I’ll show you the quickest path to take to unlock the Ancient Gate easily.

How to Complete the Servant of God Quest in No Rest for the Wicked

After arriving at the Ancient Gate to the Cerrim Ruins, there will be a short cutscene between the Madrigal and Ellsworth.

Speak to the Madrigal. She’ll tell you to find a hidden chamber to open the gate to the Ancient City.

Return to the passage you entered this room from. The Madrigal’s guards that were in front of the stairs will have moved, giving you access to the staircase.

At the end of the staircase, head to the right to save at a Whisper.

After stopping at the Whisper, take the path on the left.

Kick down the statue here to turn it into a bridge.

Cross over the bridge and head down to the path.

At the end of the path is a small ledge with a glowing spring. Jump down onto it. This spring has trickles of water falling into the larger pool below.

Jump down at the corner where the water is trickling to land into the pool of water, then swim to the right.

Climb up the ledge on this side of the water.

You’ll walk up a stone ramp, which has one enemy with two swords on it.

At the top of the ramp is a stone bridge leading to a platform with a mage, who uses fire magic.

After killing the mage, climb up the vines.

There will be both another fire mage and a dual sword wielder on this platform. Defeat them and head up the stairs.

You’ll find a campfire in the stairwell near the top. Use it if you need to and continue upwards.

You’ll come to a larger room with a tall statue and a doorway on the left. First, kick over the statue and return to the Whisper spot to save your progress. When you’re ready to take on the Riven Twins, enter the left door.

After Defeating the Riven Twins

After defeating the Twins, enter the door in the northeast section of the room.

It will contain a staircase. Walk up it.

This will return you to the room where you fought the twins, except now you’ll be on the raised platform in the room. There is a small pedestal in front of the face sculptures that you can interact with.

The Ancient Gates’ refusal to open will complete the Servant of God quest. Speaking to the Madrigal afterward will have her be somewhat rude to you.

Talking to Ellsworth, who is to the left of the Whisper, will have him tell you that its best you both return to Sacrament. Use the Whisper to return and continue on with the rest of your journey.
