Like any other game, Tormented Souls 2 has its own auto-save system. The game saves your progress automatically, allowing you to use it as a checkpoint when you die or as a way to continue later if you close the game. However, the auto-save only activates upon reaching important parts of the story, which can be a problem if you want to save while in the middle of a puzzle. To top it off, this only applies in Assisted mode. But luckily, there’s another way to save your game, but you’ll need to find the right item for it. Here’s how to save your game in Tormented Souls 2.
How to Save in Tormented Souls 2?
In order to save the game manually in Tormented Souls 2, you need two things: a Recorder and a Recording Tape.
The Recorder is where the saving happens. It’s a white reel-to-reel tape recorder that you can find in select rooms in Tormented Souls 2. There’s one in the Guest Room where you first spawn, and one inside the Matron’s office. Though, this only covers the early areas of the Convent. Later on you will, of course, find them in other areas too.

The Importance Of A Recording Tape
You cannot use them though as is. It needs a recording tape, and each save will consume one. Much like healing items, you can find these Recording Tapes on top of the table, shelves, closets and lockers. These recording tapes usually come in three, so if you find one, that gives you three recording tapes. At least on Assisted mode anyway..

To use this, interact with the Recorder. Then, go to the inventory, and examine the Recording Tape. Drag the tape and attach it to the empty slot of the recorder. Like a point and click mechanic..
Once it’s in, press the button with the green lights until the save screen appears. This shows the slots, location, difficulty, playtime and date. You’ll be given limited slots where you can save.
