Tree Stumped is one of the many side quests that you can complete within Ys IX: Monstrum Nox
It involves a search for a specific tree with Golden Nuts. It can be found and completed during Chapter 7 – Capriccio of the Prison

- PRIORITY: 2/3 (2 Star)
- REWARD: Tempest Elixir
- LOCATION: Keening Highlands
- CHAPTER: Chapter 7 – Capriccio of the Prison
- WALKTHROUGH:
- Head to Keening Highlands in order to start this specific side quest
- Here you will be able to meet up with Vallin who is stood by a large Tree Stump, no real surprise there.
- It seems Vallin wants some legendary Golden Nuts which can only be found on a specific tree.
- The legendary tree can be found in Keening Highlands, simply check the map as it should be marked on there for you
- The tree that you need to inspect can be found to the right of the large archway. You may need to dispatch the nearby enemies in order to be able to inspect the tree
- After inspecting the tree, the side quest will then end.
- You will be rewarded with a Tempest Elixir for your efforts

Vallin is searching for a legendary tree spoken of in the Nors faith
It’s supposedly somewhere in the Keening Highlands, but he’d certainly be no match for the beasts wandering the area on his own.
