Umbral Aniimo are some of the rarer variants you can come across in Aniimo, and they’re pretty easy to recognize thanks to their darker look. The tricky part is actually finding one, since a lot of it comes down to luck. In this guide, we’ll go over how to get them, where you should be looking, and what you need to know before evolving one.
What is an Umbral Aniimo
Umbral Aniimo are those with darker and galactic aura. They have dark black purple color palette, which makes them easier to spot even from a distance. The best part though is when you catch one, they’re guaranteed to be perfect!
These Aniimo, though, are harder to come by. Whether from eggs or exploration, they’re just as hard to find as Sparkling Aniimo. Not to mention, you’ll most often encounter these Aniimo at the Lumin stage, so if you happen to find one at a later stage, consider yourself lucky!
How to Get Umbral Aniimo
You can get Umbral Aniimo through different ways.
Find them in the wild
If you’re lucky, there’s a chance you could stumble upon an Umbral Aniimo in the wild. The spawn chance is random, and there’s no designated time or location where you can find this type of Aniimo. If there’s one nearby, Bini will let you know!
Wild Surges
During Nurture events, there’s a chance for an Umbral Aniimo to appear. However, just like in the wild, the chances are fairly low. Only Umbral versions of the Aniimo featured in that specific Nurture event can appear.
Umbral Egg
So far, the only place where you can find an Umbral Egg is the Lost Sanctum during Egg Heist operations. Search and dig up Egg Nests while exploring the Lost Sanctum for a chance to find one, then successfully extract to receive the egg through your Mailbox. You can get an Umbral, Umbral or Fragrant Umbral Aniimo Egg.
Players can unlock the Egg Heist after reaching Pathfinder Level 50 and Wayfarer III rank.
After getting the egg from your mailbox, put it in the hatchinator and it’s guaranteed to give you an Aniimo with a perfect potential.
Should you evolve an Umbral Aniimo
No. If you want to preserve an Umbral Aniimo’s dark appearance, it’s better not to evolve it.
Most of them are easier to find at the Lumin stage, so evolving one can be tempting, especially since they come with Perfect Potential and can still be useful in a team. The trade-off is that evolution removes the Umbral appearance.
If the visual variant is not important to you, though, evolving is still a reasonable option. The Aniimo will lose its dark look, but it will keep both its Perfect Potential and Personality.
