Throughout the various mission chapters within Bayonetta 3 you will stumble across several unlockable challenges. These challenges are optional and there are usually 5 of them within each chapter. Unfortunately though it is not clearly evident as to what these challenges are, and what they consist of until you have at least completed the chapter once.
These challenges are known as Bewitchments. They usually feature all kinds of optional requirements. Some of which include having to destroy certain objects, find a way to climb the highest and tallest buildings, eliminate certain foes without the use of specific equipment and abilities. These requirements range in both variety and difficulty.
For the purpose of this guide we will be focusing on the Betwitchment challenges that can be found within the Chapter 4 – Worlds Apart mission chapter.

BEWITCHMENT: Enter the lotus field in Ginnungagap
VERSE: Verse 1
GUIDE: When you enter the Ginnungagap Rift continue on as normal. However, do not proceed to the next area. Instead look for a large rock pillar to the left, one in which we can climb or jump on. From there look up to find a platform high above you. We need to get up there.
BEWITCHMENT: Hit Mediocris with Infernal Demon attack 3 times
VERSE: Verse 2
GUIDE: When you reach the warzone area you will come across the Mediocris as part of your first combat battle here. Our objective for this one is to summon an Infernal Demon and attack these Mediocris a total of 3 times. Use Phantasma’s Web Attack ‘R’ button for a better chance of hitting the target.
BEWITCHMENT: Walk over lava using Phantasmaraneae Masquerade
VERSE: Verse 2
GUIDE: Equip the Ignis Araneae Yo-Yo and ride around using Phantasmaraneae Masquerade ‘ZR’ button. Find any section of lava and walk around in it. It can be done in any section of lava that you may come across but one perfect spot can be found just after crossing the damaged bridge.
BEWITCHMENT: Break Virga Once
VERSE: Verse 4
GUIDE: During the fight against Virga try to do as much damage as possible. Remember to take advantage of your Infernal Demons.
BEWITCHMENT: Proceed without using Congestus’ time control
VERSE: Verse 4
GUIDE: When you manage to find Congestus defeat it and then proceed to ignore it. Instead use the Ignis Araneae Yo-Yo to perform the Phantasmaraneae Masquerade (ZR button) and ride up the wall to the next area.
