Shortly after you have completed the tutorial part of the game you might end up stumbling across one of the many secrets within Elden Ring. This specific secret features a fogged wall or a doorway. Whatever you want to call it, it is clearly an area you cannot currently get past, at least not right now.
Now next to this fogged wall there will be a golden Imp Statue, this is what is required to unlock this area. However, in order to interact with it you will need to find and collect the necessary Stonesword Keys. There is a total of 4 Stonesword Keys that you can find throughout the map
Be warned that when you have used one of these Stonesword Keys they will then be consumed and you will then need to go out and find more. Meaning you can only use each key once.
Anyway when you have successfully unlocked the fogged wall you will not be instantly rewarded. Instead you will then be tasked with having to make your way through several dangerous rooms. Rooms that involve poison and traps. You will also be taken to an area known as Fringefolk Hero’s Grave.
Your goal within Fringefolk Hero’s Grave is to make your way to the very bottom of the area. Here you will encounter another fogged wall.
When entering through this fogged wall you will then encounter a boss known as Ulcerated Tree Spirit. When you have successfully defeated this boss you will then be rewarded with a Golden Seed and Banished Knight Oleg (which is an actual summon that can fight as both a Tank and DPS)
As you might have worked out by now, this area is not really for those new to the game and you will need to be prepared for it.
Anyway if you think you are ready for this then below is a simple guide on how to find the necessary Stonesword Keys in the Limgrave region.
STONESWORD KEY #1
- LOCATION: Stormhill Shack
- GUIDE:
- This one can be found and located on the Stormhill Shack.
STONESWORD KEY #2
- LOCATION: Dragon-Burnt Ruins
- GUIDE:
- This one can be found in a small room at the Dragon-Burnt Ruins.
STONESWORD KEY #3
- LOCATION: Murkwater Cave
- GUIDE:
- The merchant Patches sells this key.
STONESWORD KEY #4
- LOCATION: Fringefolk’s Hero’s Grave
- GUIDE:
- In order to get this one you will have had to remove the fog wall, meaning you have already got the previous keys.
- You can then make your way towards the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. Continue on until you reach the fire trap.
- From the fire trap continue on and activate the elevator here. Ride the elevator to the top floor. The key can be found here.
