In today’s guide, we’re covering Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn A Shot in the Dark Side Quest. This quest will take you to the City of Writ to investigate who has been terrorizing the city. This side quest can be picked up from the coffee shop host in Whitebridge.
Investigate the Alley In A Shot in the Dark Quest
Your objective is to investigate an alley in the City of Writ. From the Lodestone in the center of the city, marked on the map above, leave the building and go to the gate below the balcony. Use the lever on the left to open it. Continue straight down three sets of stairs and turn right into an alley. Go around the building in front of you and down the stairs next to the lamppost. Use the skull at the bottom to open rifts and travel to the path on your upper left side. An enemy hiding in front of the statue attacks you. Once he is defeated, take the path on the left. Go around the wagon in front of you and follow the candles.
The candles take you underground and to the source of the screams. You’ll have to defeat the torturer before you can move on. Speak to the man on the ground, Gada, who tells you to go to Pauper’s Alley.
Find Pauper’s Alley In A Shot in the Dark Flintlock
Follow the candles back to the surface and return to the statue. Go up the ramp on the right and follow the path on the rooftop. When you come to a gap, jump to the left path and go up the stairs. Double jump to get to the next roof and then jump down to the platform on your left. Use the cross beams to jump over the gate up ahead, in the direction of the quest marker.
Once you’re on the other side, go down the alley straight ahead filled with crates and sacks. Go to the back left side of the alley and through a door. There’s a glowing piece of paper on the wall to your right that you can interact with. Talk to the man, Jana, right outside the door when you’re done. He tells you that killing Bohal will rid the city of a monster.
Reach the Execution Site
After talking to Jana, your next objective is to reach the execution site. Climb the platform behind Jana, on the left, and then jump to the upper platform on your right. Climb up onto the crate to jump onto the next higher path. Go straight and jump up onto the bridge above you. There is a skull on your right that you can use to open a rift that’ll quickly take you to the street below. Make sure to jump before landing to reduce fall damage.
The execution sight is to your left. Kill Bohal the Butcher and his allies. Jana gives a level 3 rare melee weapon called Judge’s Hammer as thanks.
