In this Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn When Duty Calls Side Quest guide, we’re covering how to help the fighters in a desperate settlement fend off the dead. This quest can be picked up from the host at the coffee house in First Anchor.
Locate the Captain In When Duty Calls Quest
From the coffee house in First Anchor, leave and turn right. Follow the path out of town. Walk against the cliff on your right and you’ll find a narrow passageway. When the path opens up, head left towards the group of people in the distance. Speak to the man in blue.
The captain tells Nor that he returned to find his home destroyed. He needs help from the specialists, veterans who used to serve under him. They are nearby but no longer wish to speak to him. He asks Nor to convince them.
Talk to the Specialists
You now have to find three specialists and convince them to help the captain. From the captain, turn right and take the first right path, which leads into a cave with a high ceiling. The first specialist, Doso, is inside, on the right.
After speaking with Doso, continue following the path. It opens up into a field. After a few steps, start turning right and head to the back right corner of the area. The second specialist, Zeng, sits in front of a small hut behind a rock. However, Zeng recognizes Nor as the godkiller and wants the bounty on her head, so you’ll have to fight him.
After defeating Zeng, take the path on the right side of the hut. When you enter the ruined village, you’ll notice a giant hole in the cliff to your right. Follow the path and right when you pass under the arch, use the rocks on your right to climb up. Go straight, leaping over the gaps, until you reach a small area where the third specialist, Zira, has made camp. Nor successfully manages to convince Zira to join them.
Return to Captain Azra In When Duty Calls Flintlock
After recruiting two of the three specialists, return to Captain Azra, who is in the same location as before. You’ll be presented with two options: “Start the Battle” or “Leave”. If you’re ready to fight, select “Start the Battle”. With the captain, specialists, and villagers, defend the Goatfoot Gorge against the dead. Once you’ve killed all the enemies, speak to the captain one last time to complete the quest. You’re rewarded with a level 3 rare firearm called Skirmisher’s Pistol.
