Big Mouse, Little Hope is the first major quest that you’ll have to complete in Mouse PI for Hire. And as Investigator Jack Pepper, you must find criminals and any suspicious activities going around the town. So for your first mission, you must chase your first target.

Chase After Your Target

There are multiple doors in this room. Enter the room with a door that says “Staff Only.”

Check Out the Posters

After leaving the room, you will find an area with multiple posters. These posters will provide some helpful tips that you can use throughout the game. Note that you must inspect every poster in order to proceed. You will also find a nearby locked door.

Use the Detective Brush

The Detective Brush is what you’ll need to unlock the door. Press M (PC) or down on the directional pad (PS5) and it will unleash the Detective Brush, which will show you the right path in case you get lost.

Chase after your target

After that tutorial stage, the chase resumes. Enter the door and head upstairs. Next, climb the ladder, then jump and crouch through the pipes blocking the path.

At the end, another area can be found, but a large jump is required to reach it.

After jumping, fall damage will be taken, which is rather normal. Head upstairs and use the Heal-D Medkit on the wall to recover.

Continue upward to encounter the first fight. Pick up ammo on the left and clear the enemies. If you took any damage, use the heal bottle near the sign to heal.

From there, head up and proceed to the elevator, then activate it using the switch. This leads to another room with a typewriter for saving progress.

In the same room, a safebox can be found. Unlocking it requires tailpicking. After opening it, take the cash inside.

Afterwards, enter the room on the right. Multiple enemies will spawn in this section, so prepare for combat. After defeating one, pick up the loot and head downstairs, following a hose. Unlock the middle room by tailpicking.

Once unlocked, more enemies will spawn. Defeat them and activate the switch. Head upstairs again and enter the casino area. The target is getting closer, but not quite yet, and enemy encounters become more intense here.

Look out for healing bottles and ammo boxes to survive this section.

After clearing the enemies, proceed to the room where the target entered and save the game.

Enter the left door and head downstairs. A series of boxes and obstacles will appear, so jump over and crouch through them while following the path and fighting enemies along the way.

Enter the room on the left, then exit through the other door. Before moving forward, solve the nearby tailpicking safebox puzzle. This puzzle includes a timer and thorns inside the lock, so careful movement is required.

Meanwhile, an explosion can be heard in another room, and two more mouse enemies will appear. After defeating them, proceed through the next door and follow the path upward.
