Of Rats and Raiders Sewer Walkthrough – No Rest for the Wicked

Game Guides No Rest For The Wicked

Of Rats and Raiders is the quest after entering Sacrament and meeting the Watcher in No Rest for the Wicked. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the second part of the quest, which occurs after freeing Rattigan but before entering the Water Channel of the sewer.

The Of Rats and Raiders Sewer quest section also consists of a bug which relates to collecting the water channel key in the Black Trench. This might get fixed in the future. However, until then there is a solution that might help.

For the first half of the quest, check out our walkthrough here. It goes over getting the quest, defeating Darak the first time, and freeing Rattigan.

There are six enemies in this area. There are three mutated rates, two large parasites, and one Risen. I recommend taking the path on the right, as it will allow you to sneak attack the Risen.

After defeating the Risen, travel to the area in the back while fending off the other enemies.

Follow the cellar’s path to the west to watch a short cutscene between a Risen soldier and another Risen infected with the Pestilence.

After the scene, head down into the area and kill the parasites that remain. They can poison you, so make sure to avoid their bites. Afterward, head to the statue at southern end of the room.

Pull the lever at the statue to unlock a bridge to the other side of the area.

This area is extremely dangerous. The left side has multiple Parasites as well as an infected Risen to fight. What makes this even harder is the fact that killing an infected Risen will create for more parasites to fight. All of these enemies are very dangerous up close, so make sure to move out of their range after attacking.

To get deeper in the dungeon, you’ll need to head to the right. You’ll have to fight another infected Risen here.

At the end of this path is a statue with a lever. Make note of the platform near the boxes as well.

Hop down from the platform, heal up, and cross the bridge. There will be loud sounds coming from the wooden door next to the end of the bridge. However, you’ll need to get the key for it first, so head along the path to the west.

There should be a stronger enemy in this next area, who you’ll need to defeat to get the key. However, there is a chance that this encounter will be bugged and the enemy will not appear. This occurred during my first attempt, preventing me from continuing forward in the dungeon. Some players can reset their game or the dungeon to make this enemy appear.

THE BLACK TRENCH BUG IN OF Rats And Raiders Sewer Quest

This bug occurs whilst searching for both the water channel key and sewer lever key. Whilst some players were able to solve this issue by resetting the game or dungeon, others simply found and defeated the fiend over by the closed door.

However, none of these is a guaranteed fix. Sometimes this fiend does not even spawn. So another workaround is to roll to the door then press Y whilst continuing to push up with the analogue stick. Essentially rolling through the door.

Another workaround is to head to the locked door, open the map menu and use the map to teleport to the next area.

Once you have the Water Channel Key, head through the door to begin the next section of the Of Rats and Raiders quest. This concludes the Of Rats and Raiders sewer section.
