In open-world games like Where Winds Meet, the map is a handy tool that helps guide quests, earn exploration points, farm resources, fight enemies, and more. Early in the game, however, most of the map appears greyed out, even when stepping into those areas. When the map remains obscured, finding boundary stones, mini-games, and dungeons becomes much more difficult. Because of this, unlocking the map is one of the first priorities. Doing so reveals the entire region and makes navigation far easier.

How to Open Map in Where Winds Meet

To unlock areas on the map in Where Winds Meet, players must find Wayfinders and speak with them, as they are the ones who open the map.

As of writing, there are two major regions in Where Winds Meet: Qinghe and Kaifeng.

How to Unlock Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet

As soon as the game begins, Qinghe becomes instantly unlocked, and all that remains is to visit all the Wayfinders. In Qinghe, there are three Wayfinders that need to be visited.

These include;

  • Gengzi in Verdant Wilds
  • Renwu in Moonveil Mountain
  • Jiachen in Sundara Land

How to Unlock Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet

As for Kaifeng, the map remains obscured, and players are initially prohibited from visiting it. However, access becomes available after completing Chapter 1’s main storyline and reaching level 32. Then, start the Kaifeng quest.

Once they’re met, you can finally enter Kaifeng. To fully uncover the map, visit the following wayfinders.

  • Jiawu in Granary of Plenty
  • Wumao in Jadewood Court
  • The Fortieth in Kaifeng City
  • The First in Roaring Sands
