How to Get Jeremy’s Contract in Alone in the Dark (2024)

After exploring New Orleans, the last place you’ll go to in Chapter 3 of Alone in the Dark 2024 remake is Dark Man’s Sunken Temple. I’ll walk you through each of the puzzles in the temple to help you get through it and grab Jeremy’s contract.

How to Enter the Dark Man’s Temple in Alone in the Dark (2024)

After entering the desert that Dark Man’s Temple lies in, you’ll come across a hole leading to the temple surrounded by three tall stones. The stone on the left has rope around it. Make note of it and travel down to the light in the distance.

The campfire in the distance lights up a few tents and boxes. The important item over here is a long section of rope near the last tent. Pick it up.

The rope can be attached to the mentioned monolith to create a path into the temple.

There is a lever on the left side of Dark Man’s statue.

Pull it to reveal open one of the lit-up doors.

First Room Puzzles

Approach the chest at the front of the room. Grab the Horizon item out of it.

Place the Horizon item into the hands of the statue in the center and pull the lever on the right side of the room. This will cause a beam of light to pass through the Horizon lens onto the wall.

Interact with the statue to move it around. Rotate it so that the light from the statue hits the eye-shape above the closed door.

Climb up the stairs beyond the doorway to find the next puzzles.

Aiming the First Statue Above the Main Room

After reaching the top of the staircase, turn to the statue on the left.

Interact with the statue to rotate it. Move it to the right so that the light points at a door with a blue eye-shape above it.

Continue past the statue and up the nearby staircase.

At the top of the staircase, go into the first room on the right to get a pickaxe and the “Children of a Dark Sun” Lagniappe.

Continue down the hallway, pressing “E” to crouch beneath some rocks. You’ll be able to go down a staircase, after which you’ll come out on the other side of the main hall. Head through the door that you just unlocked with the light.

Second Room Puzzles Our search for Jeremy’s Contract continues

Use the pickaxe to break the barrier between this room and the main hall. Then use it to break open the barrier on the right, which will lead you to the next puzzle.

This next room has a statue holding a lens, a lever, and a locked chest. Pull the lever to send light through the lens.

Rotate the statue so that the light shines on the eye on the chest. This will unlock it, allowing you to grab The Star lens.

Aiming the Second Statue Above the Main Room

After completing the second puzzle, return to the second floor using the attached set of stairs. Turn to the left and walk down the hallway, heading up the next set of stairs. You should be on the third floor facing the statue of the Dark Man.

Place the Star lens onto this statue.

Now aim it to the door on the lower right with the blue eye above it. This will unlock the third room of the temple, which you should head over to.

The Search For Jeremy’s Contract Takes Us To Third Room Puzzles

This third room is the hardest puzzle yet, consisting of lights and statues in two different rooms. After entering and going down the stairs, begin by breaking the barrier to the room on the right. If your melee weapon has broken, a spare one can be found to the left of the room’s initial entrance.

Pull the lever on the wall to activate the light.

Rotate the statue to face the eye-shaped hole in the wall.

This reflects the light into the next room.

Now rotate this statue to open the chest, giving you the Underworld lens.

Aiming the Third Statue Above the Main Room

Head over to the last statue. It will be on the right side of the hall.

Place the Underworld lens here.

Rotate it to point at the right jewel on the Dark Man’s crown.

Next, return to the statue on the left. Rotate it so that it lights up the jewel on the left of the statue’s crown.

After that, head to the statue on the third floor and point its light to the center jewel on Dark Man’s crown.

Lastly, head to the crown. It’s accessible through the same hallway that we grabbed the pickaxe and Lagniappe from earlier. Once there, step onto the head of the statue and aim the light to the jewel in the center of the floor.

After doing so, you’ll be able to make your way back to the main hall to grab the Jeremy’s Contract. Doing so will lead you into a cutscene and then the next chapter.
