ARC Raiders Shredders – How To Defeat These Powerful ARC Enemies

ARC Raiders Shredders Strategy Guide

You will bump into Shredders when exploring indoor areas such as the Business Center, the Culture Archives, the Assembly, and the Sandbox. They appear in other places as well, but these are their usual spawn locations. You will mostly meet them in narrow corridors and hallways.

Attack Pattern, Strategy, and Recommended Equipment

As soon as the Shredder notices you, it rapidly charges at you. When it gets close, it performs a devastating circular AOE attack. Then, it repeats this pattern. It doesn’t have any long-range attacks. When the Shredder is in the charge phase, you will want to break the line of sight by moving out of its way. Use the environment to take cover. If you want to avoid the fight, run into a room and close the door. There’s a chance that the Shredder will stop pursuing you.

Once engaged, the Shredder will keep chasing you, so kite it while dealing ranged damage. You might be tempted to hit the Shredder’s glowing eye, however, that’s not its weak spot. Aim for the side thrusters and the turbine instead. Those are the spots that take considerable damage. Focus on trying to disable the thrusters first.

Light and medium shields are almost useless against the AOE attack. You will have much better chances of survival using a heavy shield, however, do your best to avoid its AOE. When it comes to weapons, choose the ones that have armor penetration, such as the Anvil. You can also use shotguns for a stagger effect. Weapons that use light ammo will barely scratch the Shredder, so opt for heavy ammo. As for explosives, you will want to bring Snap Grenades and Trigger Nades. Other types of grenades work as well, but these are the best for this fight.
