Interact with the scarecrow to trigger the side quest.
Where to Find the Scarecrow’s Belongings and the Secret Lovers’ Place
The first thing you must do is to find the Scarecrow’s items:
- Lover’s Pendant.
- Letter With a Drawing.
Lover’s Pendant Location
Go into the field behind the scarecrow and you’ll soon spot a corpse next to a tree. Take the Lover’s Pendant from the dead man’s hands.
Letter With a Drawing Location
Go back towards the village and enter the barn. Go up the ladder, turn right, and jump to the other side.
Turn left and drop down. Go through the building and exit.
Follow the right path until you reach the wooden ramp. Defeat or avoid the enemies as you go.
Continue on the path and keep to the right.
Make a left before the gate and go towards the large house to find the Letter With a Drawing on a table on the first floor.
Return to the scarecrow and interact with it. The soldier seems at peace now, but the quest is not over. Notice the crows flying towards the village. You must follow them to find the lovers’ hiding place and conclude the Valor Mortis Scarecrow quest. Follow the path leading back to the village and enter the building.
Exit and keep going until you reach the barn.
Go to the upper level and witness the memory to complete the quest.
