If you’ve reached a certain point in AtomFall, particularly during your time inside the Interchange, you’ll realize how important an Atomic Battery is. These Atomic Batteries are exactly what you need to power the data stores in the Interchange. But unlike other resources and items in the game, Atomic Batteries are fairly scarce, which makes sense, since you’ll only ever need five.
There are several Atomic Batteries distributed across the four regions in Atomfall, but if you don’t feel like searching for them on your own, this guide has you covered.
Where to find an Atomic Battery in Atomfall
There are several ways to get your hands on an Atomic Battery, and here’s exactly how to do it.
Get an Atomic Battery in Atomfall through Bartering
Out of the nine traders in Atomfall, three will offer you Atomic Batteries. Besides knowing where to find these traders, it’s also important to understand which items they value more than others. Atomic Batteries are high-value items, so expect to part with a fair number of tools and resources in exchange. Knowing which items each trader prefers certainly does help.

Inside Slattendale, Molly Jowett (26.4E 79.0N) is especially interested in Painkillers, Molotov Cocktails, and Rifle Ammo. Over in Casterfell, Billy Gorse (21.5E, 89.6N) prefers Burn Salve and Nail Bombs. On the flip side, it’s still unclear which items Nora Thorndike (41.2E, 78.4N) from Skethermore values most.
Alternatively, picking up the Charisma skill can make every item more valuable during trades, giving you a better deal no matter what you offer.
Inside the Interchange
If you reach the Interchange early enough, the first Atomic Battery you’ll likely find is next to a corpse in a hazmat suit inside the CPU room. After picking it up, you can choose to use it immediately by placing it into the main terminal to restore power to the Central Processor.

Killing B.A.R. D Robots
If you ever spot a massive robot roaming the area and think you’re strong enough to take it down, there’s a chance you’ll get an Atomic Battery. Once it’s disabled, you can pull out and extract the battery directly from its body.

Now, if you’d rather skip the combat and get straight to the point, head to Skethermore. Near Nora’s Barn, there’s a pond at coordinates 41.3E, 78.1N, where a broken B.A.R.D. Robot sits in the middle. While it can’t fight back, make sure to clear out all the slug-like creatures in the water before attempting to extract the Atomic Battery.
Opening a Chest in St. Katherine’s Church
Once you’ve completed the St. Katherine’s Church lead, or after speaking with or killing Vicar McHenry, you’ll receive a key that unlocks a chest inside the church (33.0E, 78.8N). Inside, you’ll find an Atomic Battery along with a note titled A Fruitful Trade.
