The First Berserker: Khazan – The Vow Side Quest And Reese’s Past Trophy

The Vow is a The First Berserker: Khazan bonus mission that requires you to find out what is happening below the Great Temple. Completing this mission will unlock Reese’s Past trophy. Let’s see what you must do to complete the mission and get the trophy!

How to Start The Vow In The First Berserker: Khazan

This mission becomes available after you complete the Fall of the Empire main quest. However, in order to start the bonus quest, you first have to collect three items, and then you can talk to Daphrona to begin your investigation.

Where to Find the Three Disk Fragments

Aldevir’s Disk Fragment

Found During: Witch’s Castle main quest.

Location: From the Aldevir Citadel Blade Nexus, go right and find the fragment near the base of the statue.

Vaisar’s Disk Fragment

Found During: Corruptors’ Fortress main quest.

Location: From the Vampire Gate Blade Nexus, go up the stairs and make a left to find the fragment at the end of the corridor.

Rovelion’s Disk Fragment

Found During: Strange Melody main quest.

Location: From the Path to the Museum Blade Nexus, go to the room with the gate and the stairs going down to find the fragment near the boat display in the center.

How to Complete the Vow

To complete the mission, you need to find and defeat the Specter of Pleuvious. However, if you take your time and explore the area, you will find several notable items.

How to Get the Collectibles

During this mission, you can collect:

• One Jarling.
• Two Soulstones.
• Ghost Relic.
• Hismar Conquest 3.
• Hismar Conquest 4.

Soulstone 1

From the Forbidden Passage Blade Nexus, head up the stairs and take the ladder down. Drop down through the hole in the floor and make a left. Attack the wall at the end of the corridor to get the Soulstone.

Ghost Relic

Go to the other end of the corridor and make a left to enter a room. Go down the stairs and attack the wall. Watch out for the trap and make a left to find the chest with the Ghost Relic, an item needed for Adelhaide the Philanthropic Phantom.

Jarling

From the Ghost Relic’s location, go back to the corridor and up the stairs four times to reach the chamber, where you will find the Jarling.

Hismar Conquest 3

Exit the chamber with the Jarling and jump down. Make a right and then a left and go behind the elevator to find this collectible.

Hismar Conquest 4

From the Ruins Bridge Blade Nexus, go down the stairs through the archway, make a right to reach the water area, and search for the collectible behind the waterfall.

Soulstone 2

From the water area, go through the stone archway with a brazier in front of it and jump down to reach the area with the big statues. Look for the Soulstone behind the statue on the right.

How to Defeat the Specter of Pleuvious and Complete The Vow

After you have obtained all the collectibles, go up the stairs in the chamber with the big statues and open the door to reach the Hidden Chamber Blade Nexus. You can now engage the boss.

The Specter of Pleuvious uses the following moves:

• Clone Thrust and Lounge Attack. The boss summons two clones that each do a thrust attack. Avoid this attack by doing a backwards dodge.
• Clone Smash Attack. The boss summons two clones and then smashes the ground. The clones do a slash attack. Dodge backwards to avoid the smash from the boss and then to the sides to avoid the clones’ slash.
• Clone Slash Attack. The boss summons one clone and they both do a slash attack. Dodge backwards two times.

The boss also performs these attacks on its own when no clones are present. Pay attention to the delay between the attacks and use that window of opportunity to land some hits on the boss. Once the boss is down, proceed to the chamber and collect Reese’s Ring. Watch the final cutscene to end the mission.
