Another substory in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth is Embrace Your Wild Side. It is substory 25. Here we discover someone playing the ukulele who is also haunted by his past.
HOW TO UNLOCK EMBRACE YOUR WILD SIDE
To embark on the Substory 25: Embrace Your Wild Side, you need to reach Chapter 4: In The Ghetto in the main storyline of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Once you’ve reached this chapter, head to the Anaconda Shopping Center in Honolulu. Make your way to the center square on the second floor, where you’ll find a man playing a ukulele on stage in front of a crowd. This talented musician will catch your attention, and the Substory will begin.
A FACE IN THE CROWD
Approach the ukulele player, known as Matt Tropico, and listen to the beautiful song he’s playing. The scene then shifts to the end of the concert, with the crowd applauding in admiration. You’ll find yourself captivated by the performance and decide to stay until the end. A spectator nearby refers to the musician as Matt Tropico and mentions how rare it is to see him perform in a place like this. As the crowd disperses, you notice Matt struggling to carry boxes and offer to help him.

CENTER OF ATTENTION – MATT TROPICO
After helping Matt with the boxes, he reveals that the event was a last-minute arrangement, and there aren’t enough staff members to handle the workload. Impressed by your kindness, Matt invites you for a drink to express his gratitude. Accept his invitation, and together, head over to Kaku Avenue. As you walk, you witness Matt being stopped by an adoring fan who asks for an autograph.
WILD INSPIRATION
Continue your journey to Kaku Avenue and find Matt leaning against a pillar near the stage in the Anaconda Shopping Center. Three men confront Matt, claiming that they are trying to make their band famous while accusing Matt of achieving fame without working for it. They even go as far as trying to extort money from him. Stand up for Matt and engage in a battle against the three punks. Defeat them, and they will flee.

A TOAST TO THE PAST
At the bar, Matt opens up about his past and how it has haunted him. He was a pioneer of “wild rock,” a subgenre he created himself. He shares how he used to stand on boxes with his guitar, playing whatever came to mind. However, he couldn’t secure a single gig. Matt confesses that he used to eat weeds from the ground and hang potatoes around his neck, earning him the nickname “potato guy.” He considered his wild rock as a way to inspire others to live confidently, but if no one listens, is it truly music or just white noise?
SINGING THE BLUES
Later on, you encounter Matt near the Crystal Aloha Resort on Harbor Boulevard, where he tells you about a meeting with an event coordinator for a concert on the beach. A child approaches Matt and refers to him as Golem Gunwolf, revealing his admiration for Matt’s wild rock days. However, Matt insists that he has moved on from that scene. Determined to lift the child’s spirits, you seek out Pete, the young fan, outside Barnesby Family Care on Sakura Street and Makani Avenue. Pete shares his fears about an upcoming surgery but tells you that his illness will worsen if he doesn’t undergo the operation. You sit with him on a bench, and he confides in you about his frail body and his long history of hospital visits. Suddenly, Pete’s alarm goes off, playing a song by Golem.

WHERE IS MATT?
You find Matt at the Treasure Select Pawn shop in Chinatown, where he is admiring a guitar made for wild rock. You inform him about Pete’s wish to hear Golem play live again and the impact his music had on the young fan’s life. Matt is torn but ultimately decides to fulfill Pete’s request. He invites you to the concert on the beach, and you agree to accompany him. As Matt leaves, you can’t help but look back at the guitar he had pawned in exchange for a ukulele.
SHOWTIME!
Head to the Aloha Beach Juicery, the venue for the concert, and find Pete standing nearby. Speak with him, and he expresses his excitement to see Matt perform, still referring to him as Golem. You reassure Pete that Matt’s goal is to make people happy with his music. The concert begins, and you find yourself in the front row, watching Matt take the stage. As the concert progresses, Pete mentions that although he is having fun, it’s not the same as what he heard during his illness. In a surprising twist, Matt changes his costume to his old Golem Gunwolf persona and plays the song that Pete had set as his alarm.
