(FF7R) Final Fantasy VII Remake : Report 3 – The Stagger Effect PT1 (Battle Intel – Side Quest) Guide
Another easy and simple enough Battle Intel Side Quest except this time you are required to use unique abilities on staggered enemies and charge the ATB gauge.
Again this will be teaching you what you should already know using Materia that you should already own
SIDE QUEST NAME: Report 3 – The Stagger Effect Pt1
QUEST GIVER: Chadley
ACTIVATED: Complete Reports 1-2
CHAPTER:
REWARD: First Strike Materia
REQUIREMENT: Use unique abilities on staggered enemies and charge the ATB gauge 10 times.

GUIDE:
For the video posted in this I didn’t fully understand the ATB gauge charging mechanism and instead found Barret to be useful for this.
What I originally did was once a fiend was close to being staggered I would quickly switch to Barret and mash the attack option until the foe was indeed staggered, from there I would then use Barret’s Overcharge ability and this always seemed to work.
However, after having now played several countless hours of this game I now know exactly how this is meant to work.
In order to charge the ATB you can either use the Barret strategy I mentioned earlier or equip a character with the ATB Boost Materia which will be a Report 4 reward, thus it may be best to complete that one first.
Then equip that Materia and using the L1 and R1 (PS4) button you can instantly charge your ATB.
As for the unique abilities requirement, once a foe has been staggered you can use moves such as Barret’s Overcharge and Tifa’s Whirling Uppercut (basically their Triangle abilities)
So this video may not show the best method of ATB boosting, it does however show you how to take on an enemy with a unique ability.
