In Brookhollow Park, you can expect plenty of threats, both big and small. And if you’re one of those players with a fear of spiders, brace yourself, there are many of them in different forms. From tiny Spiderlings and aggressive Orb Weavers to gigantic Wolf Spiders, they’re everywhere. But don’t let that scare you into quitting the game. Grounded 2 has a godsend feature to help players with arachnophobia: Arachnophobia Mode. Here’s how to enable it and how it works.
How to Enable Arachnophobia Mode in Grounded 2
Before starting the game, we recommend making some tweaks to your game settings. Be sure to check out the Arachnophobia mode which you can access by pressing the Menu, or tapping Esc, Options then Accessibility.
Arachnophobia Safe Mode can be found just below the Large Text, Large HUD, and Wide Interaction options. It uses a slider that ranges from 0 to 5. The higher the setting, the less spider-like the creatures will appear. With the Arachnophobia Safe mode disabled, spiders look much more realistic, while they look less menacing with the mode on.
Here’s what they look like per each setting:
- Arachnophobia Mode: 0
The spiders are at their full size. Looking menacing and deadly

- Arachnophobia Mode: 1
At this mode the spiders are slowly beginning to loose their form. Making it slightly easier on the eye for those with ”tingling spider problems”

- Arachnophobia Mode: 2
At this point the spider creatures have been greatly reduced in overall appearance. Loosing limbs and looking more like a stone

- Arachnophobia Mode: 3
At this mode the spider has lost both its limbs and fangs. Turning more into a yellow stone wasp

- Arachnophobia Mode: 4
When the Arachnophobia mode has been turned to the fourth setting, at this point you are likely wondering what you were even scared of in the first place. Representing even more of a lethal yellow stone with red eyes, terrifying.

- Arachnophobia Mode: 5
We have now, essentially, birthed a stone that has, now, changed colour. Still bearing red eyes but this is literally the max setting.

Note that the Arachnophobia Safe mode in Grounded 2 applies to all spiders including Spiderlings, Orb Weavers and Wolf Spiders.
Also keep in mind, as the game points out, this setting is purely visual. Activating Arachnophobia Safe Mode won’t make spiders weaker or alter how they act in the game.
Of course, you can always change or alter the settings however and whenever you want.
