Hogwarts Legacy – Grand Staircase Tower (Door Puzzle) Solution
There are many door puzzles that can be found within Hogwarts Legacy. These door puzzles often have numbered diagrams on them, and once unlocked, they often hold treasure chests all waiting to be inspected and claimed.
Each of these locked doors all generally follow the same rule in order to unlock them. This rule usually sees us having to work out what each icon or picture that resides around the door actually represent. From there we then need to determine how to make the target number that is on the diagram that is printed on the door.
Once we have successfully managed to work all of that out we can then locate the dice on the wall that is connected to the door. These dice can be rolled and flipped around, allowing you to choose the correct one that is required to unlock the door.
(Note: The pictures that are located around the door are replacement for numbers. However, keep in mind that these numbers go in a clockwise direction. Also these numbers start from 0)
This specific door puzzle is located within the Grand Staircase Tower of the Hogwarts Castle. It requires us to reach the main target numbers of both 23 and 19
Lets prioritise the bottom diagram on the door, the one with two ‘??’. Since the dice that we can roll are located on the wall behind us.
For this diagram we have a picture of a three headed serpent, and another picture. Both of which are located around the door. This will let us know what numbers they represent. Now the missing picture will give us the answer ‘19‘. Our main target number.
To reach the number 19 we need to determine what the pictures that we have already been given represent. To do this we need to figure out how this puzzle actually works. It is quite simple once you know how.
The pictures around the door go in a clockwise direction and the first picture represents the number ‘0’. Meaning that the two pictures that we have already been given give us the numbers ‘3’ and ‘9’. So that means, without adding any more to the equation, we have made the total number of ’12’. So we need to add ‘7’ in order to make the target number of ’19’.
Knowing what we already know, this means that the strange picture. An ‘elephant?’ is our correct answer, as it is the seventh picture that goes around the door. So roll the required dice a total of five times.

Now on to the next diagram. This time we need to make the number 23. We already have the number 15 and a picture icon to help us determine what the missing picture and number is that will help us reach the required number. Going by the door icons we should have an idea.
The dice that we can roll through is located back up the stairs and on the wall here. Now since we have already solved the other part of this door puzzle, we should really already know what to do for this one.
Remember that we already have the number ’15’ already given to us. So we need to work out what the picture represents next to it. To do that simply look at the door and use the same method as before. This will mean that our picture represents the number ‘2’. As the first picture, going in a clockwise direction, represents a ‘0’.

Our correct answer is the ‘lizard’ type picture. This is because it represents the number ‘6’ and 15 + 2 + 6 = 23. So roll the required dice a total of four times.
The door should then unlock and inside there will be several treasure chests. One of which contains a Relaxed Jumper School Uniform
