Enshrouded is an exciting adventure and survival game that offers players a vast world to explore and challenging monsters to conquer. One of the essential aspects of the game is building a base for your character. Your base serves as a safe haven, a place to rest, craft items, store belongings, and even respawn if your character dies. Claiming a Spot for Your Base
When you start playing Enshrouded, one of the first objectives you’ll encounter is to claim an area for your home base. This is where your character will build their sanctuary and embark on their survival journey. To claim a spot, you need to place a stone altar in your desired location. Once the altar is placed, a generous square of land centered around it becomes your buildable area.
It’s important to note that you can only build within these designated home base areas. However, as you progress in the game, you’ll have the opportunity to unlock additional areas for building.
GETTING STARTED WITH CONSTRUCTION
Once you have claimed your home base area, it’s time to start constructing your base. The first step is to craft and place a workbench. This will unlock a few basic building objects and enable you to enter Construction Mode. To craft a workbench, you’ll need to gather the required resources and follow the crafting recipe.
With the workbench in place, you can now craft a Construction Hammer. This versatile tool allows you to automatically assemble building materials into premade floor, roof, and wall shapes that easily fit together. It’s a quick and efficient way to construct a basic building.
Alternatively, if you have a specific vision for your base and prefer a more customized approach, you can place individual blocks freehand outside of Construction Mode. However, keep in mind that this method can be more time-consuming and requires precision.

ADDING FEATURES TO YOUR BASE
Once you have the basic structure of your base in place, it’s time to add some essential features to make it functional and comfortable. Windows and doors are great additions to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of your base. To construct windows and doors, head to the workbench and craft them like any other object. Look for wall blocks that have spaces left out for windows and doors, which can be placed in Construction Mode.
Having at least one door is highly recommended, as it allows easy access to your base and helps keep unwanted creatures out. Windows not only provide natural light but also offer a view of the surrounding environment
COMPLETING YOUR FIRST BASE
Congratulations! With at least four walls, a roof covering, and a door, you have successfully built your first base in Enshrouded. As you enter your newly constructed structure, you will benefit from the Sheltered condition. This condition increases the rate at which you regain the Rested buff, which is essential for your character’s well-being.
When you have successfully managed to create your base you can now rest and store items. You are also now free to decorate your base with furnishings and additional elements.
