How To Get The TMP Submachine Gun (Resident Evil 4 Remake)

Game Guides

When you come to the end of the Resident Evil 4 Remake Chainsaw demo. You will inevitably confront the chainsaw man. Who is otherwise known as, Dr. Salvador. An ordinary looking citizen. However, the only big difference is he wields a terrifying chainsaw. If you end up getting trapped by this individual, you will find yourself in a lot of trouble. It can even result in a one hit kill. Get hit by it and you’re dead. As a strange, sort of reward. We can then witness one of the many death scenes within the game as poor Leon is obliterated in half. Well, to an extent at least, we don’t actually see his body getting ripped in half but the theory is there. So too is the delightful Game Over screen.

On top of all of that, you will have no doubt, by now, realised that getting ammunition isn’t always easy. It is very scarce to find ammunition for weapons. Also, as this particular villain is very much different from your ordinary typical enemy, a simple handgun is not going to be enough to take him down. We need something with a bit more power. There is a shotgun inside one of the buildings but since the chainsaw man can be a ‘damage sponge’, it is probably not a good idea to fully rely on that alone.

So in order to remedy this we can actually find another weapon that will help us out quite a bit. The TMP Submachine Gun. Which is capable of firing off at an increased rate, thus allowing us to tackle the chainsaw man so much easier and quicker, especially compared to anything else at this point.

So where exactly can we find this TMP Submachine Gun? To be honest it is not too evident and there are no real indications. At least there wasn’t during the demo. However, what you do need to do is continue on until you are about to reach the Village Square but do not enter it straight away. Just make sure you are at the gate leading to the Village Square.

From there open your inventory and remove EVERYTHING. Yes, everything. That includes your handgun, healing items. Make sure it is empty. You do not really need them right now and keeping anything in your inventory will prevent us from being able to get our TMP Submachine Gun. The reason for this is because if you leave anything in your inventory there will be a grate that will block our entrance to where we need to be.

Once you have successfully removed everything in your inventory proceed through the gate and into the Village Square. Witness the end of the detective and keep to the right side of the village. Here there will be a well or a sewer entrance. The TMP Submachine Gun will be here, inside a treasure box. Have fun!

I’ll admit I will be surprised if this remains in the actual full release of the game. Especially the method of being able to find the TMP Submachine Gun. It feels like a trick that can only be done during the demo but we will soon find out. Resident Evil 4 Remake is due to release on March 24th for the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PC, and XBox Series X/S

EDIT: As of March 24th, the game is now officially released. This method no longer works. The cover to the underground tunnels only gets removed on your revisit to the Village Square. This takes place during chapter 3.

However, the TMP Submachine Gun can now only be purchased by speaking with the Merchant. Who will be selling the weapon for 10,000 ptas.

The method mentioned in the video was exclusive to the Chainsaw demo of the (RE4) Resident Evil 4 Remake.
