Like A Dragon: Ishin – The Desperate Fisherman (Substory Quest)
Like A Dragon: Ishin has many different substory quests that players can find and try to complete. One of which is Its The Desperate Fisherman
The Desperate Fisherman is an optional substory quest that sees us confronting a depressed and disappointed individual. Apparently he is a big fan of fishing but, unfortunately, is unable to catch any fish. His fate resides on his ability to catch one otherwise he will have to stop fishing altogether.
SUBSTORY QUEST: The Desperate Fisherman
CHAPTER: Chapter 2 – The Man Named Saito Hajime
QUEST GIVER: Fisherman
REWARDS: 150 Virtue
LOCATION: Shinmachi (Fushimi)
GUIDE:
Head to the entrance of the Teraday Inn, over at Shinmachi, and we will come across a ‘Fisherman’. Seems like he is feeling a bit disappointed about something.
Speaking to him will reveal that he is a passionate fisherman but has not had much luck in catching a fish. He also goes on to state that unless he manages to catch something he will have to quit his hobby of fishing.
Apparently he has never once managed to catch a fish and his wife is getting tired of him spending so much time in trying. So our fisherman decided that he would quit if he failed to bring a fish back home with him.
So to remedy and solve this issue, we need to now get a fish for him. We can either purchase a fish or actually catch one ourselves.
Option 1 – Head to the Uorin Fish Market and purchase a fish. I ended up purchasing a ‘Squid’ for 400 mon.
Option 2 – Speak with the ‘Sea Fishing’ man by the pier to begin fishing. We can purchase bait from the ‘Ichikura General Goods’.
Regardless of what choice you went with we will then unlock a new friendship bond and complete the substory quest.
