Like A Dragon: Ishin has many different substory quests that players can find and try to complete. One of which is The Mysterious Merchant substory
The Mysterious Merchant is another optional substory quest. It sees Ryoma taking a rest, which ends up being a meeting point for a mysterious shady deal between a merchant. This merchant then asks us to help him. We then need to find some tomatoes.
SUBSTORY QUEST: The Mysterious Merchant
CHAPTER: Chapter 5 – The Iron Code
QUEST GIVER: Mysterious Foreigner
REWARDS: 150 Virtue, 2ryo
LOCATION: Rakugai
GUIDE:
Locate a small wooden shack building to the south west corner of Rakugai. Inspect it. Ryoma will then mention that he is tired and decides to take a break.
Suddenly a mysterious man appears and assumes that Ryoma is some sort of shady individual and is part of some unknown business deal. After a bit of confusion and mixed discussion we will then attempt to leave.
However, mysterious individual prevents us from doing so. Apparently he needs our help with bringing some stuff to him. Apparently this stuff is ‘tomatoes’. It would seem that the mysterious individual’s friend was slain over a bunch of tomatoes. He wants a total of 10 tomatoes.
In order to get tomatoes you will need to visit Haruka’s propety. The Another Life. From there go ahead and inspect the shrine in order to spend virtue points. Scroll over to the ‘Farm’ option. Then purchase the ‘Farm Expansion Level 1’ for 500 virtue. Scroll down and in this same list will be the ‘Green Thumb: Tomatoes’. Purchase the tomatoes for 1,000 virtue. Begin to grow your tomatoes.
When the tomatoes have finally grown remember to harvest them and then give them to the Mysterious Merchant. This will then complete the substory and begin a new ‘Friendship Bond’.
