In this guide, we’re covering Metaphor ReFantazio A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Side Quest. This quest becomes available on 6/29. After Grius’ Dagger is stolen, talk to the Pompous Man, Cuculus, to unlock the quest. It is located in the Thoroughfare Square in Martira. You’ll have to go in search of Malveno’s Ring in the Abandoned Tomb. At the end of this quest, Alonzo becomes your new follower.
Beginning A Dagger a Ring and a Rake Side Quest
Make sure you raise your Imagination to Rank 2 before beginning the A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake Side Quest. You’ll then get to see a cutscene where a thief steals Grius’s Dagger. After the cutscene, talk to the Pompous Man named Cuculus. He says he’ll give the dagger back but only if you get Malveno’s Ring from the Abandoned Tomb.
The Abandoned Tomb
It takes two in-game days to reach the Abandoned Tomb. During this time, you will have to fight Demo Man Goddard. Unfortunately, this fight is unavoidable. However, he is weak to Electric attacks, so if you have a party member who deals electric damage then you’re in luck.
Once you reach the tomb, there are plenty of areas for you to explore. First, you need to find and defeat Trove Imitec to get a key. After that, unlock the treasure chests behind a locked wall. It’s located in a room near the bottom of your map. The ring is inside this chest.
Finishing the Side Quest
With the ring now in hand, head back to Martira and speak with the Pompous man. This will complete the side quest and you’ll learn the man’s true identity. You’ll also be rewarded with 15,000 Reeve, Grius’s Memento, and an increase in courage.
