Metro Exodus – Sam’s Story (DLC) : All 11 Diary Book Locations Guide
Though there is not trophy achievement for this one, the diaries just like with the main game is also a collectible in Sam’s Story DLC.
There are 11 in total and most of which are more or less easy to get to, however for one of them you will need to speak to some local brothers who are Car Dealers and currently have issues with one another and thus this eventually leads to needing to unlock a code safe.

1:01 – 1:39 : Absence Note
1:39 – 2:29 : Survivor’s Note
2:29 – 3:32 : A note from Korzh
3:32 – 13:13 : Company Charter
13:13 – 14:31 : Engineer’s notes
14:31 – 15:13 : A note from the Boss
15:13 – 16:00 : Tail’s Diary
16:00 – 16:45 : A Guard’s Journal
16:45 – 17:28 : Boss’ notice
17:28 – : Seryi’s note
DIARY 1 – NOTE TO KORZH
You can find this one in the first building that you reach after speaking with Tom and boarding a boat to go and look for the Captain.
It is on the second floor next to a dead body
DIARY 2 – ABSENCE NOTE
Shortly after collecting the first one, the second one can be found inside a School building just before reaching the building with the Captain in. The building will be on the left and behind the half sunken statue
DIARY 3 – SURVIVOR’S NOTE
This one can be found in the building with the Captain in. It’s upstairs and on the window ledge where you will encounter several of the Ghoul type enemies and just before reaching the room with the Captain in it.
DIARY 4 – A NOTE FROM KORZH
This one can be found whilst searching for the Captain’s shelter/base. It is found during the scene with the Sniper, in the first actual building here before crossing to reach the actual Sniper there should be a set of ladders you can climb, the diary is up here.
DIARY 5 – COMPANY CHARTER
This one occurs whilst trying to find a boat and before reaching the Fire Depot. You will need to encounter the two local brothers who are having issues with each other regarding a Car Sales business.
Talking to them will give you a code to a safe, you need both codes by speaking to both brothers, sadly even if you know the code you cannot simply just enter it into the safe it doesn’t work that way unfortunately. Thankfully the two brothers are not too far from each other.
The diary is inside the locked safe
DIARY 6 – ENGINEER’S NOTES
Just before reaching the Fire Depot and whilst still looking for a boat, you should find yourself on a large bit of land just after being told about a Storm, this land also houses plenty of mines too.
Anyway cross the mine infested area and eventually you will reach a window that you need to climb through, after doing so you will reach a room with the next diary in
DIARY 7 – A NOTE FROM THE BOSS
Eventually during the course of the story you will be tasked with finding the Environmental Suits.
After securing the boat you will also need to travel through some hazardous black fog, which most likely will be the first time in which you will require to use the Gas Mask.
Now after reaching the building which requires you to burn the water in order to progress, just after leaving the boat immediately turn left and the diary will be sitting on top of a container here
DIARY 8 – TAIL’S DIARY
Whilst still searching for the Environmental Suits and after burning the water in order to progress, keep going until you reach a building that looks like a possible Medical facility to the right. Inside will be two goons for you to play with.
Now after dealing with those make your way to the upper part of this building in order to find the next diary
DIARY 9 – A GUARD’S JOURNAL
If you continue on the board after the last diary you should eventually reach some land and finally be rid of the toxic cloud, also on this same bit of land is a bus that houses the next diary.
DIARY 10 – BOSS’ NOTICE
After eventually finding the Environmental Suits you will now need to find the Captain once again. However, before heading outside and near the Workbench before booting down the door you should find the next diary within this room
DIARY 11 – SERIYI’S NOTE
Just before the final fight with the flying creature and after escaping the building where you found the Environmental Suits, there should be an abandoned building with mines around it.
