You may not notice it early in the game while selling drugs to customers in either Northtown or Westville, but you’ll soon realize how important quality is in Schedule 1. As you unlock new regions, you’ll eventually encounter high-spending yet picky customers who only want the best. This is where the drying rack comes in. It increases the quality of several items, potentially raising them to Heavenly or golden tiers. Here’s how to use and set it up.
How to get a Drying Rack in Schedule 1
Drying racks are purchased from Oscar’s Store inside the warehouse.

Oscar’s Store is located inside the Warehouse, near the Pawn Shop and Barbershop. It’s only open from 6 PM to 6 AM. Head over to Oscar and interact with him to purchase a Drying Rack, which costs $250 each. There’s no limit to how many you can buy, as long as you have enough space in your inventory.
How to increase quality in Schedule 1 using a drying rack
Besides using fertilizer, you can increase the quality of weed and coca leaves by placing them on a drying rack and leaving them there for a few minutes. Unfortunately, the drying rack can’t be used to improve Meth’s quality. Its quality solely depends on the type of Pseudo purchased from Shirley Watts.

There are five drug quality tiers in Schedule 1, and the higher the quality, the easier it is to convert potential customers into loyal patrons.
- Trash (Red)
- Poor (Green)
- Standard (Blue)
- Premium (Purple)
- Heavenly (Gold)
Each drying rack can process up to 20 weeds or coca leaves at a time. It takes 12 minutes or 12 in-game hours, for each item to upgrade by one quality tier.
If you’re juggling multiple properties and customers, it’s more efficient to automate the process by hiring a botanist to handle it for you.
