Schedule 1 Botanist – How to Use Them

Schedule 1

You’ll find a few hireable employees in Schedule 1, and one of them is the botanist.

At first, planting and harvesting might seem like a fun side job. But when you’ve got tons of plants to manage, on top of deliveries, restocks, and everything else, it can get overwhelming fast. That’s where the botanist comes in. Here’s how to bring one on board and put them to work.

How to hire a Schedule 1 botanist

To hire a botanist, visit the warehouse between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and head upstairs using the stairs near the door. Speak with the Fixer and select the option “[1] I want to hire an employee,” then choose “[2] Botanist (planting, plant maintenance, harvesting).” Once selected, assign the botanist to the properties where their skills are needed.

Hiring a botanist in Schedule 1

To complete the hiring process, you’ll need to pay a $1,500 signing fee and cover a daily wage of $200, which will be deposited into their locker.

How to use a botanist in Schedule 1

Botanists are employees you can hire to handle sowing seeds, plant maintenance such as adding fertilizers, PGR and more harvesting.

Once hired, use the management board provided to assign them a locker and link a storage rack where they can access necessary supplies like seeds and fertilizer. As long as their wages are paid and the supplies are stocked, they will continue working without interruption. After setup, you can assign the botanist to manage up to eight pots, grow tents, or drying racks.

For the best botanist setup, here’s how you can do it.

  1. Assign the botanist to up to eight grow tents, pots, drying racks, or storage racks. You can skip the drying rack if you don’t need it yet.
  2. Select the grow tents and pots, and choose which seeds and fertilizers go into them.
  3. Then, pick a destination, it can be a drying rack, storage rack, mixing station, or cauldron.

How to fix a botanist not working in Schedule 1

If your botanist has stopped working, there are a few possible reasons and corresponding fixes.

First, botanists stop working outside of their scheduled hours; they won’t work once the time hits 4 a.m. Additionally, employees won’t work if they haven’t been paid for the day, so check their lockers and ensure there’s enough cash inside. Botanists also require sufficient supplies in their assigned storage racks. Another common issue is pathing; make sure no obstacles are blocking their way to the workstations.

If none of the above applies, try knocking out the worker! I know it sounds cruel, but hey, it works. It can reset their behavior, and they may return to normal the next day.

If all else fails, consider restarting the game or firing the botanist and hiring a new one.
