How to Get the Frozen Hand in Tormented Souls 2

Tormented Souls 2 is home to many puzzles, and without solving them, you may not be able to proceed through the story. One of these is the Frozen Hand puzzle, which you’ll encounter after reaching the kitchen. It actually holds another puzzle that we need to solve, the Cryptex

Here’s how you can solve it.

How to Get The Frozen Hand in Tormented Souls 2

The Nun and her frozen hand can be found in the kitchen, which you can access after entering the Courtyard.

To get the frozen hand in Tormented Souls 2, you’ll have to saw it off the body using a handsaw. However, even if you search around the kitchen, you’ll find no handsaw. Here’s how you can find it. (Note that during this run, you’ll find plenty of vases. Destroy them with the hammer for free nails and shotgun shells.)

Getting The Handsaw

First, go back to the Courtyard (Cloister) Inside the gallows, you’ll find a corpse with a saw attached to its head. You can’t reach him yet. To get the saw, pull the lever beside the gallows, which drops the body to the lower level.

Head back to the corridor, turn left, and go downstairs. Enemies will spawn here, so be careful.

At the bottom, you’ll find the corpse. Use the pliers to get the saw.

Getting The Handsaw Frame

Next is the handsaw frame. Head back to the kitchen and go downstairs to where the stove is. On the other side of the room, there is a doorway. Go there and pull the lever.

Exit the room and enter the Refectory through the white door just across it.

Inside, you will find another lever. Pull it down as well. Note that an enemy will spawn here, so prepare your hammer to stun and kill it. Also, don’t forget to take the painkiller and destroy the vase near the lever.

Head back to the door, and this time, take the stairs and go to the wooden shelf. Interact with it and pull the shelf to gain access to a small room. Inside, you’ll find a table where you can collect the handsaw frame.

Getting The Frozen Hand

Now that you have both the handsaw frame and the saw, it’s time to assemble them. Examine the handsaw frame and attach the saw.

Return to the kitchen and saw off the hand from the body using the handsaw.

You’ll notice that the hand is holding an item called the Cryptex (which, again, holds another puzzle). The next task is to get that Cryptex. With the solid frozen hand, there’s no way to retrieve it unless you melt the hand.

To melt it, go back to where the stove is.

Open the door at the bottom and use the lighter to burn the logs. Then, place the frozen hand on the stove and wait for it to melt. This will reveal the Cryptex
