There are a total of eight Jianghu Legacy Quests in Where Winds Meet, and one of them is Cries in the Distance. Along the way, there’s a puzzle called the Yin-Yang Dial that can be confusing for some players.

Read on to find out how to finish the Cries in the Distance quest in Where Winds Meet.

How to finish the Cries in the Distance Quest in Where Winds Meet

Initiate the Cries in the Distance Where Winds Meet quest by heading to Moonveil Peak in the Qinghe region. The quest will automatically begin as soon as you reach the top of the mountain, where you’ll hear the voice of a man screaming for help.

Follow the voice, then enter the cave.

Drop down, then observe the surroundings. Speak with the man, who is revealed to be Big Feng, on the other side of the wall. After that, just across from him, you will find a chest and a circular pressure plate behind an obstacle. Get rid of it using your bow and fire arrows.

Step onto the plate to finally remove the wall blocking Feng Jisheng’s path.

After speaking with him, step on the pressure plate on the opposite side to reveal the Yin-Yang statue.

Now, to solve this puzzle, players must take note of the clues given by Feng Jisheng.

“Those in the heaven and earth spots may turn freely without affecting each other.”

“For those in the water and fire spots, if one turns, the opposite must move in reverse.”

He will also mention that heaven and earth must face each other, and water and fire must be connected.

There are four dragon statues symbolizing the heaven–earth and water–fire pairs. In this image, A and B are water–fire, while C and D are heaven–earth.

To solve this, rotate C and D so they are facing each other. Note that these two can be rotated without affecting the others.

Next, rotate the Yin-Yang Dial once so that fire and water are no longer connected by the two round plates on the ground. Since they are no longer connected, you can now rotate water and fire (A and B) independently. Move both, making sure they are facing outward.

Finally, rotate the Yin-Yang Dial once again to reconnect water and fire.

This solves the Yin-Yang dial puzzle in Where Winds Meet.

A new area will open, and you’ll have to investigate five different objects.

To end the quest, you’ll need to follow Feng Jisheng to the other room, where you must face a bear. Instead of fighting it head-on, defeat the bear by throwing it against the pile of stones three times using the Tai-Chi ability. After that, speak with Feng Jisheng again.
