Substory 18: Beach Guardian Heroes Of The Sand in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In this thrilling substory, you will join Ichiban on his final shift as a lifeguard, facing off against thieves and street thugs to ensure the safety of beachgoers.
STARTING THE SUBSTORY
To begin Substory 18: Beach Guardian Heroes Of The Sand, return to the lifeguard stand where you completed Substory 16: Beach Guardian: Water, Water Everywhere and Substory 17: No Kidding Around. Speak to Raymond, Ichiban’s lifeguard partner, who comments on the bustling beach. Choose the option “Can I pitch in?” to initiate the substory.
CHASING THE BEACH THIEF
Raymond asks Ichiban for help in cleaning up the trash scattered across the beach. As they prepare to start their duty, a woman’s scream pierces the air. They witness a man running past them, pursued by the woman, claiming that he stole her wallet. In a thrilling chase, you must follow the thief down the beach, navigating quick-time-event prompts to avoid obstacles. Missing too many prompts will allow the thief to escape, resulting in a failed mission. Eventually, Ichiban catches up to the thief, tackles him to the ground, and retrieves the stolen wallet. The grateful woman thanks Ichiban and leaves, while Raymond comments on how the beach would benefit from Ichiban’s full-time commitment.
A FAMILIAR FACE
After the exhilarating chase, Raymond leaves to get Ichiban a drink. However, Ichiban grows concerned when Raymond takes longer than expected. Head to the juice cart on the other side of the beach to find Raymond facing off against the thugs from Substory 17. The thugs are unhappy with Raymond for not allowing them to drink on the beach. Ichiban steps in to defend his friend, leading to a brawl with the street thugs. Defeat the seven thugs in combat, impressing the bystanders with your skills. The onlookers reveal that the thugs have been causing trouble for some time. They express their gratitude to Ichiban, who redirects the praise to Raymond, acknowledging his dedication to keeping the beach safe.

Raymond expresses his heartfelt gratitude to Ichiban for his assistance throughout the substory. As a token of appreciation, Raymond presents Ichiban with the Infrared Goggles accessory.
