Substory 10: Coming Out Of Her Shell in the game Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In this Substory, you’ll embark on a heartwarming journey with Nancy, Ichiban’s crawfish companion, as she experiences love at first sight on the Hawaiian beach.
CHAPTER 3: THE FOOL – BEACH ENCOUNTER
The Coming Out Of Her Shell Substory can be found during Chapter 3: The Fool. Once you have visited Jeff’s taco truck for the first time, head to the eastern side of Aloha Beach, just south of the mission marker for Substory 3: Crazy Money. Here, you’ll encounter Nancy the crawfish, who appears on Ichiban’s shoulder, eager to explore the beach. Ichiban agrees and allows Nancy to wander while he takes a rest.
As Ichiban dozes off, he awakens to find Nancy captivated by a hermit crab adorned with a shell bedazzled in jewels. Ichiban playfully asks Nancy if she’s in love, thus initiating the Substory as the crawfish scurries away.
LOVE IS (S)HELL CONTINUES..
The next part of the Substory unfolds in Chapter 4: In The Ghetto. After learning about Julie’s Gearworks from the bartender at the Revolve Bar, return to the same location on Aloha Beach where the Substory began previously. You’ll find the hermit crab once again, and when you interact with it, Nancy will reappear on Ichiban’s shoulder.
This time, you’ll have a choice to make. When prompted, choose “Have fun, girl.” Nancy will then jump down and attempt to impress the hermit crab with a dance. Unfortunately, the hermit crab remains unimpressed and retreats into its shell, seemingly rejecting Nancy’s advances.
Ichiban, determined to help Nancy win over her crush-tacean, suggests finding flowers to give as a gift. Head north to the corner of Momo Street and Sakura Street, opposite the Tropical restaurant from Substory 11: Wait For Me. There, at the base of a palm tree, you’ll find pink flowers. Interact with them, and Ichiban will instruct Nancy to clip one for her crush.
NANCY’S FANCY – REUNITING WITH OLIVIA
Return to the spot on Aloha Beach where you previously encountered the hermit crab. This time, you’ll come across a group of men harassing the crab, causing it to retreat into its shell. Nancy, ever the valiant companion, jumps off Ichiban’s shoulder and approaches a smashed flower on the sand, with an empty tomato can nearby. Nancy signals Ichiban to come over, and as the tomato can begins to move, Olivia, the hermit crab, emerges from her makeshift “home.”
After a brief conversation with the dejected decapods, Ichiban sets off to find the men responsible for disturbing Olivia. Eventually, he finds them digging in the sand under some palm trees. One of the men mentions finding jeweled-out crabs, which prompts Ichiban to confront them about Olivia. When they refuse to return the shell, a confrontation ensues, culminating in a fight against the greedy goons.
FORCED EVICTION – A CHIVALROUS RESCUE
Upon defeating the greedy goons, Ichiban retrieves Olivia’s shell. However, when he turns around to give it to Nancy, she is nowhere to be found. Suddenly, Nancy appears with another shell, one that isn’t adorned with jewels. Olivia chooses the non-jeweled shell, cementing her bond with Nancy. The Substory concludes with Ichiban’s concern for Nancy’s newfound friend and his hope for their safety.
