Dragon Age: The Veilguard – All Endings

(DATV) Dragon Age - The Veilguard

In this Dragon Age: The Veilguard (DATV) All Endings guide, we’re covering how you can get each ending in the game. Veilguard’s conclusion is action-packed as you defeat the gods, but one final one remains. How you choose to defeat Solas is up to you, but in order to get the best ending, you’ll have to do one very important side quest. One way or another, you have to bind Solas to the Veil to prevent it from falling.

If you want the best ending, make sure to do the companion quests for each of your companions, otherwise they risk dying in battle.

(DATV) Dragon Age The Veilguard Endings 1 – Trick Solas

In order to trick Solas into using the fake dagger, select the dialogue option “Let’s try it your way.” This is one of two default options that you get no matter your prior choices. By doing this, Rook pretends to attack Solas and allows him to take the fake dagger. When he uses it, the ritual backfires, trapping him. Rook then draws his blood, binding Solas to the Veil. Solas, before he is pulled into the Fade, realizes that he is a fool.

(DATV) Dragon Age The Veilguard Endings 2 – Fight Solas

In order to fight Solas, select the dialogue option “But I want to fight you.” Rook and their companions will attack Solas. If you didn’t do their companion quests, your allies can die here. However, if you overpower Solas during the fight and draw his blood, he’s bound to the Veil. Solas declares that he is a god before being pulled into the Fade.

Use Mythal’s Essence

Dragon Age The Veilguard Optional Endings include Using Mythal's Essence

Using Mythal’s Essence is considered the best ending, but it requires that you complete the Regrets of the Dread Wolf side quest and acquire the other half of Mythal’s essence. By selecting this option, Morrigan appears and combines her half of Mythal’s essence to summon Solas’s old friend. Mythal convinces Solas to willingly bind himself to the Veil.

Inquisitor’s Ending

Inquisitors get a special Solas romance as one of the optional endings in Dragon Age The Veilguard

If you romance Solas in Dragon Age: Inquisition, then this option is available to you when you pick Mythal’s Essence. Earlier in the game, the Inquisitor talks to Rook and opens up about her past relationship with Solas. Rook has the option to tell the Inquisitor to hold onto that love or let it go. If you told her to hold onto it, then Inquisitor will go into the Fade with Solas willingly and they finally get their happily ever after.

Everyone Dies Ending In Dragon Age The Veilguard (DATV)

In an epic, but tragic, version of the ending, Rook and all their allies can die. If you choose to do none of the companion quests and fight Solas at the end, he will kill all your allies, leaving you alone. At this point, Rook will grab Solas and they’re both pulled into the Fade.
