Heartopia is a cozy life simulation game where players can craft, build, cook, fish, take care of pets, and more. Before jumping into these activities, the game also lets players customize their character through a dedicated character creation screen. This choice isn’t permanent either, as appearance can still be changed later on.
Here’s how to change appearance in Heartopia.
Changing appearance in Heartopia through the Salon
To begin changing appearance in Heartopia, players will need to head to the clothing shop located at the center of the map, right beside the furniture store. This shop serves as the main place for anything related to character appearance.

The first floor is mainly used for browsing, changing, and purchasing clothes. To fully alter your character’s appearance, make your way to the upper floor by using the wooden stairs at the back of the shop.

Once upstairs, approach either of the two vanity mirrors available. Interacting with one of them will allow access to the appearance customization options.

This will bring you to the Salon section. Here, you will be able to change the following:
- Skin tone
- Hairstyle
- Eyebrows
- Eyes
- Beard
- Face Paint
Some items are available from the start, while others must be unlocked by purchasing them with Wishing Stars or coins. There are also items that only become accessible after reaching a certain D.G. Member level, or by obtaining them through the Gilded Acorn Exhibition.
On the right side of the screen, there’s also an eyedropper icon that allows you to change the color of the selected item. From here, progress can be also be reset or undone at any time.
Scroll through each category, select and equip the items you like, and once everything looks right, tap the Purchase button at the bottom-right corner of the screen to confirm.

There’s also no limit to how often appearances can be changed in Heartopia, so customization can be done anytime. So go ahead and change your appearance in Heartopia whenever you like!
