Hollow Knight Silksong has no shortage of enemies that can take you down, but luckily, the game gives Hornet multiple tools to help. These tools are divided into blue, yellow, and red categories. Red tools are offensive options that serve as a secondary source of damage, and one of the earliest you’ll find is the Straight Pin. The Straight Pin is one of the first red tools you’ll get in Hollow Knight Silksong, and here’s how to obtain it.
How to Get the Straight Pin in Hollow Knight Silksong
Fast travel to the Marrow through the Pharloom Bellways, then head toward the rightmost area. Watch out for enemies and spikes along the way, and keep going until you reach the section with the red spikes.
Drop down and enter the small tunnel that leads to the area with the Bench Pin.
Once again, drop down until you reach a platform with the sign. Head to the right and enter the chamber. Inside, you’ll find a bench where you can rest and save your progress.
After reaching the bench, climb up to the platforms and head right to find an NPC named Grindle. He’s locked behind prison bars, but you can still interact with him. Once you speak with him, the bars will open. Continue forward, then climb to the platform just above the NPC and interact with it.
After obtaining the Pin, head to the nearby bench and equip it under the Red Tool slot.
How to use Straight Pin and how much damage does it deal?
Players can use the Straight Pin by pressing Arrow Up and F at the same time. This lets Hornet fire pins at enemies from a distance. Depending on the Tool Pouch level, the Straight Pin deals between 5 and 17 damage.
