Hollow Knight Silksong Swift Step – How to Dash

In Hollow Knight Silksong, not only will you encounter enemies, but you’ll also have to jump over platforms. In the early stages, they are pretty easy to handle, but it gets harder as you reach other areas within Pharloom. This is where the Ancestral Arts come in. Ancestral Arts give Hornet special movements and abilities.

In the game, one of the first Ancestral Arts you’ll get is the Swift Step, or the dash ability. Here’s how to get it.

How to Get Hollow Knight Silksong Swift Step

Players can obtain Swift Step within the area of Deep Rocks.

First, teleport to the Deep Docks and head to Shakra’s location. Above, you’ll find a series of short platforms. Jump across them until you reach the final one, then continue to the right to enter a new area.

Continue moving to the right until you reach the end. The path is filled with lava and burning coal surfaces, so be sure to hold jump repeatedly while crossing to avoid taking damage. There will also be several ground and flying enemies along the way, so proceed with caution.

At the end of the path, you’ll reach a mossy area. Jump over the rocks and attack the explosive core on the ceiling to clear the way forward into the next area. Once you arrive, you’ll find a bench where you can rest or save your progress.

Again, jump over the platforms until you reach the last one, then head to the right where the red ants are and ascend to the next area. Be careful of the enemies and the platform covered with silver spikes.

From this location, head to the left and prepare yourself for a battle against two red ants.

After defeating them, continue forward and drop down into the new area. Once again, there are two spiky platforms here that can potentially kill you.

Now, you have two tasks once you reach the bottom. First, head to the right and destroy the explosive core to create an opening. Second, jump onto the platform above the spike and continue to the left. At this point, you’re almost at the Swift Step location.

Reach the new area, then sprint to the left until you find the statue.

Tap Inspect by pressing the Arrow Up button, and you’ll finally unlock the Swift Step ability!

Upon binding, Swift Step is equipped right away. To use Swift Step, or the dash ability, hold Shift, assuming you’re using the default controls.
