The Importance of a Glider in Enshrouded
Before we delve into the crafting process, let’s highlight the significance of having a glider in Enshrouded. The glider is a versatile tool that allows you to overcome the obstacles posed by high drops and expansive Shrouded areas. With a glider, you can effortlessly glide from cliff edges, traverse vast grasslands, and explore even the most treacherous regions with ease. Additionally, the glider serves as a means to prevent fall damage, ensuring your safety while exploring near cliff edges. Now that we understand the importance of a glider, let’s move on to the crafting process.
Crafting a Glider: Materials Needed
To craft a glider in Enshrouded, you will need the following materials:
| MATERIAL | QUANTITY |
| Shroud Wood | 8 |
| String | 2 |
| Shroud Spores | 2 |
| Animal Fur | 2 |
Now, let’s explore each material in detail and learn how to acquire them.
SHROUD WOOD
The first material required for crafting a glider is Shroud Wood. To obtain Shroud Wood, you will need to venture into Shrouded areas and chop down decaying trees. These areas are covered in deadly mists, so exercise caution and be prepared for any threats that may lurk within. Once you have gathered 8 pieces of Shroud Wood, you are one step closer to crafting your glider.
ANIMAL FUR
The next material on our list is Animal Fur. Animal Fur can be obtained by defeating wolves, sheep, and other creatures that roam the Enshrouded lands. These creatures can be quite formidable, so make sure you are equipped with appropriate weapons before engaging them in combat. Once you have successfully defeated these creatures, collect their fur as it will be essential in crafting your glider.
STRING
String is a versatile material that can be used in various crafting recipes. In the case of the glider, you will need 2 pieces of String. To obtain String, you can either find it in abandoned camps or craft it from Plant Fibers. Keep an eye out for abandoned camps during your exploration, as they may contain valuable resources. Alternatively, collect Plant Fibers from shrubbery and use the Manual Crafting menu to convert them into String.
SHROUD SPORES
The final material required for crafting a glider is Shroud Spores. These spores are dropped by cursed enemies that inhabit the Shrouded areas. If you have already encountered and defeated enemies in the mine at the start of the game, you may already have some Shroud Spores in your possession. However, if you are in need of more, venture into the nearest Shrouded area and eliminate cursed enemies to acquire additional Shroud Spores.

THE CRAFTING PROCESS
Now that you have gathered all the necessary materials, it’s time to put them together and craft your glider. Follow these steps:
- Locate a workbench in your base. If you haven’t already, you can build a workbench once you have placed a Flame Altar, which allows you to construct structures in its vicinity.
- Interact with the workbench and navigate to the “Survival” section.
- Select the glider blueprint from the list of available options.
- Ensure you have the required materials in your inventory: 8 pieces of Shroud Wood, 2 pieces of Animal Fur, 2 pieces of String, and 2 pieces of Shroud Spores.
- Craft the glider using the workbench.
- Once the glider is crafted, right-click the item in your backpack to permanently equip it.
Congratulations! You have successfully crafted your very own glider in Enshrouded. Now, let’s explore how to use it effectively.
HOW TO USE THE GLIDER
With your glider equipped, you are now ready to take to the skies. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your gliding experience:
- Activating the Glider: You can activate the glider by jumping from a great height or while in mid-air. Simply press and hold the spacebar on your keyboard or the “A” button on your Xbox gamepad to start gliding.
- Controlling Your Character: While gliding, you can move sideways to control your character’s direction. Moving backward slightly allows you to stay in the air longer, while moving forward causes your character to dive steeply.
- Landing Safely: When gliding, it’s crucial to keep an eye on your stamina. Your stamina will gradually deplete as you remain in mid-air, so ensure you reach solid ground before it runs out. Additionally, if you land while gliding normally, your character will automatically perform a roll, minimizing fall damage. However, landing from a steep dive may result in fatal fall damage, so exercise caution.
- Climbing Steep Inclines: You can utilize the glider mechanics to your advantage when climbing steep inclines. By activating the glider during a normal jump, you can trigger the roll animation and use it to ascend steep inclines.
- Exploration and Beyond: The glider opens up a world of possibilities for exploration in Enshrouded. Use it to land on safe spots in Shroud-covered areas, reach distant locations, and uncover hidden secrets that the game has to offer.
