The jewel thief is a request within the RE4 Remake. There are many various requests that can be found and completed altogether within the game. Most of them resides near the merchant and the typewriter. Most obvious on walls and as blue notes.
The Resident Evil 4 requests are similar to side quests in that they supply us with optional side activities. Sometimes we will be required to locate various collectibles, other times to destroy specific objects and enemies. All of the requests are located on blue notes. So we will need to find and locate these notes in order to learn more about the task and objective. Each chapter has at least one of these requests that we can try to solve.
As a reward for having successfully completed these requests we will most often be rewarded with Spinels, which can then be sold for ptas to the merchant. They are basically treasure that we can then sell. Usually these are traded for various rewards from the Merchant. Rewards such as healing herbs, weapon parts, new weapons, and treasure maps. There is a vast range of different rewards to choose from.
Once you have successfully managed to completed the required task we can then speak with the Merchant in order to complete it and move on to the next one. Only by speaking with the Merchant will we be able to reap our rewards.
One such request is the RE4 Remake Jewel Thief request, which sees us having to recover a stolen jewel. The Scratched Emerald to be more precise. We can find and complete this one during chapter 12, within the Hive area.

RE4 REMAKE JEWEL THIEF
REQUEST: Sell a Scratched Emerald
AREA: Courtyard
REWARD: x3 Spinel
CHAPTER: Chapter 12
DESCRIPTION: Someone help me recover a stolen jewel snatched by a thieving crow! I bet it can be found in the vile thing’s nest. It is an heirloom of our family and cannot become some bird’s plaything.
WHERE TO FIND THE SCRATCHED EMERALD
At the start of the chapter ride up the elevator once again, Ada Wong will get in contact with Leon. Then once at the top we will come across both the Merchant and the blue request note. The latter of which will be pinned on the wall next to the gondola and another blue request (The Disgrace Of The Salazar Family).
Now before you ride the gondola we need to head through the large gate here. Making our way back to the Ballroom and Throne Room. There will be more Novistadors and Zealots here, ignore them as fighting them is not necessary. Anyway from the Ballroom you will then need to make your way over to the Grand Hall, which is to the west of the Ballroom. Make your way through the Grand Hall and into the Courtyard.
Whilst in the Courtyard locate and find the purple flame that often indicates the presence of the nearby Merchant. From the flames look up towards the rooftops. Just above the large statue of the woman that appears to be watering her flowers. Here there will be a crow and a yellow marking to indicate the location of a crow’s nest.
Shoot at the crow’s nest, which will have our Scratched Emerald in it. This will then cause the nest to fall to the ground below. Inspect the fallen nest to find our treasure reward and then sell it to the Merchant. This will then complete our request.
SELLING THE SCRATCHED EMERALD
When you have managed to successfully find the Scratched Emerald you will then want to speak with the Merchant. Who is not too far away from the location of this emerald, which is super handy.
Speak to the Merchant and sell it in order to fully complete the request. You can earn yourself 5,000 ptas for selling it.
