One of the many side quests or side cases as this game calls them, that you can complete is Where The Kappa Roam. This specific quest involves searching for the Kappa statues
Side Cases can be found and completed in both Isezaki Ijincho and Kamurocho. Simply head to the bulletin board in Yokohama 99 or find them on the map
Below is a simple guide on how to complete this one..
- CASE QUEST NAME: Where The Kappa Roam
- CHAPTER: Chapter 4 – Red Knife
- QUEST GIVER: Kodama
- LOCATION: N Sakura River St – Isezaki Ijincho
- REWARDS: Free Pass Voucher 4
- PREREQUISITE:
- GUIDE:
- Head to N Sakura River St to automatically trigger this side case
- Choose to intervene and you will be forced to fight the Town Resident, Shimizu
- Kodama will then introduce himself and that he works for the city. The kappa statues are used to help renew interest in the city.
- He will also mention that some of the statues are actually missing, a total of 7 in fact. We will then need to go and find them
KAPPA STATUE #1
- LOCATION:
- Head to the West Carriage Hwy (North West) and you will come across the football / soccer field. The statue can be found in here, playing goalkeeper.
KAPPA STATUE #2
- LOCATION:
- Head to W Tsurukame Hwy (the area with the Open Road Shogi) and you should notice a man running around with a kappa statue.
- Interact with him in order to trigger a chase. Capture him in order to get this statue
KAPPA STATUE #3
- LOCATION:
- Head to E Central St and you should notice this next kappa statue in amongst the rubbish
KAPPA STATUE #4
LOCATION:
Head to S Sakura River St in order to find this kappa statue stood next to yet another kappa statue
KAPPA STATUE #5
- LOCATION:
- The fifth kappa statue can be found between both Fukutoku Bridge and Tsurukame Bridge.
- Here there will be a fisherman, speak to him in order to fish out the next kappa statue
KAPPA STATUE #6
- LOCATION:
- Head to S Sakura River St and next to the Tsurukame Bridge there will be a small area with cats and people talking.
- One of these people talking will mention that they managed to sell a kappa for 300 yen at a nearby Pawn Store. Be sure to listen to their full conversation as this will then allow us to go and buy it.
- After listening to their conversation head to Misaki St and more specifically to the Benten Pawn here. Purchase the kappa statue for 100 yen
KAPPA STATUE #7
- LOCATION:
- Before you can get the last kappa statue you will need to of got the rest first, then head to Yokohama 99
- Here a scene will play out and then the side case will then end
- (NOTE: If the scene does not play then try to leave the area and re-enter. Also make sure that it is not interfering with the story. For me I was playing on Premium Adventure and ended up having to rest on the couch before it would trigger)
